Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Who is the Lamb? Christ Jesus is He! He is High, Holy, and Lifted Up.
What is His bide to be like?
Godly?
Holy?
Christ Like?
Pure?
Undefiled?
Unspotted by this world?
Walking Heavenward?
Obedient to Christ's teachings and the will of God in their life?
What is our responsibility to Christ?
What is our responsibility to each other?
What is our responsibility to a lost and dying world?
What do others see when they look at your life, your walk?
Do they see Christ? Do they see the bride of Christ?
Or do they see a worldly Christian?
Is there any such thing as a worldly christian? Can we be worldly/ Christ like?
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
1Co 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
This does not just mean to be married to, or a friend of, someone that you hang around or hang out with that is an unbeliever, but it also means not to take pleasure in unbelievers, in their philosophy's, and sinful , compromising practices... ( when we watch movies we have to accept that the women are painted (wear make up, jewelry, hair do's, they wear pants, and other immodest clothing (though maybe not what we call grossly immodest), the men are immodest too, these actors are not married, but often they embrace in a hug or kiss, and we listen to their teachings ( they are teaching you something, and you sit there and listen to them,( you take it all in. )
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Movies break Gods word and will, and teach us to do the same. If we allow ourselves to watch them, then we are taking pleasure in them.
We drop our christian standard when we watch movies don't we?
It's Relaxing! Educational! ( a young covered christian girl recently told us that they watched that movie, about the 9/11 crash in Pa. She justified watching it by saying it was History! Her little brother told me it was PG13 and that maybe my two oldest girls could watch it, but he would suggest that the younger children should not watch it. (None of us want to watch it. )
If it was perfectly pure, I would not want to watch ''Movies'', because it wets our taste for more... Why feed those unprofitable desires?? If you need Science or History read it in a book!
Do wholesome, godly things, be blameless. You might think you can handle movies, but your children will desire more. I do not want to wet my children's taste for entertainment.
These '' Movies '' do not teach christian convictions and practice.
Find wholesome ways to entertain yourself and family.
Crafts, hiking, pick nicks, camping, Pizza night!, family fun night, play board games together, out side games, find people to bless or to help...'' involve the whole family'' ( this will fill your time up, and bring the whole family much joy!) , Bake together, make meals together, have a elegant family tea party ( we do this ), have a cook out, bike ride, go to a park or church parking lot and roller blade, others can ride their bike, or babies pulled in the wagon, go on a country drive, go to friends house for a meal and fellowship, better yet have them to your house, go on a family walk...etc. There are so many things to do that are wholesome. These are just a few of our favorite things to do.
Whew! How did I get off on the TV issue? Well I'm glad I did...We all need to be reminded and refreshed. I speak of TV/ Movies (DVDs), because that is an obvious need in the christians home. It's the American Idol! Everyone has one , poor and rich alike, most so called christians justify having a TV or Movies in their home (even most preachers have them shameful!).
And people cannot seem to get it out of their home, they have no power over this idol, but it has power over them, people try and control it, but in actually it controls them and their family.... It breaks up families and marriages, it at least waters down Gods intent for our families and marriages. God help us!
See it for what t is brethren. When you break free once and for all, and get rid of your TV, Movies, DVDs, you can truly be free, free indeed!
When people see you or your family, or when they come to your home...What do they see? The bride of Christ?
We need to be careful christians, in all we say and do, that we lift up the name of Christ, ( our bridegroom, precious bridegroom! Lord and Saviour.)
The Lords richest Blessings be upon your life!
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~
