Hello ladies,
Since the recipes have been flying around these last few days, I want to know if you have a favorite cookbook.
Mine are Amish Cooking, published by Pathway Publishing Corporation. This a a blue hardbound cookbook available from Rod and Staff for $8.60
It has all kinds of recipes including making bologna, soap, canning, and lots of other things. The recipes are all "from scratch" type recipes. I've had mine about 15 years, the spine has duct tape on it to keep it together.
My other favorite is More-With-Less Cooking by Doris Janzen Longacre. This cookbook came out in 1976 and was updated in 2000. It is an excellent book for cooking from scratch and economy cooking. There are recipes from all over the world and tips how to use leftovers. It's available from Christian Light Publications for $17.50. I think Christian Book Distributors also sells it.

I love the Taste of Home and Quick Cooking cookbooks published by Reiman Publishers. I also get Quick Cooking magazine which has some really great recipes.

I really like Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks. I would like to get the Amish Cooking cookbook I saw in a catalog but I'm afraid they won't have it anymore.

Oh this is a hard one as I collect cookbooks, and also recipes, but my 2 favorite cookbooks would have to be my Betty Crocker cook book ( it is falling apart ) and the other would be Making the best of basics Family preparedness handbook published by the Peton Corporation in Salt lake City Utah. It was a thrift store find and I really love that book, it tells all kinds of usefull info on whole wheat, making yogurt, cheese making, and plenty on food storage, the recipes are neat too.
