Dear Friends...
I need prayer...I have been homeschooling my daughter with my mother doing most of all the teaching while I worked and lived in Tacoma...my daughter and I have now moved back to our home town and my mother has decided to stay in Seattle. The problem is I will be working outside the home and trying to homeschool at the same time. My older children who are now married believe I should put my daughter who is eight in public school. The thought of that makes me sick...I need prayer in what I should do... Thanks Sis Debbie

Dear Sister Debbie,
It is too bad that you have to work outside your home, but it doesn't make homeschooling impossible! One of the beauties of homeschooling is that it is sooo flexible, and takes much less time than public schooling.
What curriculum were you using when your mother was teaching? There are programs that are more user-friendly than others.
Who will your daughter be with while you are at work? One thing you can do is have her read quality books that are on her level when you are at work, and when you are together work on the things that require more guidance, such as mathematics.
Praying for you!
Sis Tammy

Update... My second oldest daughter (21) who is married has wanted to be a stay at home wife and someday a mother (no children yet), but she has had to work to help with some of the expenses. Yesterday when her and my oldest daughter was sewing together she mentioned how nice it would be if she could quit her job and watch my (8) year old and help school her as well!! I was overjoyed but tried to contain my excitement. The next morning her husband and her came over to talk to me about if I could pay them "X amount of $" they both thought it was a great idea. I told them to think about it for awhile longer, before committing. I can't pay them as much as she is bringing home now, but they still think it is a great idea. I am going to continue to pray about it, and wait for God's answer!!! Please continue to pray, and thank you for your prayers already. Love Sis Debbie

Well Sister Debbie, it appears to me God has sent you the answer. How else could this have happened? I don't believe there is any such thing as coincidence.
In Christ, George

Debbie, you said,
Of course we don't want to scare them away, but actually, she should be paying you tuition for the school of life, caring for and educating a child. These will be invaluable lessons that will help when she and her husband have their own children.
My 2 cents

It's official, my daughter will be watching my youngest daughter. She left her current job to take on this task. I am so blessed! I do need continue prayer for a problem that has came about; I have to work nights this is not a good situation; I want to be home at night with my daughter, instead of my daughter watching her at night while I work and during the day while I sleep; please pray that I will be moved to a day shift or a new job will open up. My oldest daughter is married and has the responsibility to take care of her home as well as her own husband. thanks for you prayers Love Sis Debbie

Well, that job situation certainly puts an interesting twist on things! I pray that the Lord will work this out, too.
That's great, that your older daughter will be helping out. I agree with Bro. Ben's assessment!

Update....... Thank you for all your prayers Things are working out wonderful with the homeschooling. My older daughter who is watching my youngest is really enjoying teaching her and stated she plans to home school her little ones when she is blessed with some. Also, I am being moved to evening shift at the hospital Feb 23rd ;D I am so excited! NO more nights...I will be home every night with my young daughter in our own beds! This is such a blessing from the Lord and a true answered prayer. As long as God makes a way for me to continue home schooling I will continue pressing forward Thanks again for the prayers Love Sis Debbie
