Hi, my wife and I live in the northern suburbs of Dallas, TX. My wife is newly covered. She began to be convicted about modest dress and the Biblical role of women in the assembly before we switched to our current church, which meets like the open-brethren, so all the women there wear head coverings. She has begun to wear a head covering out in public settings, too, because she prays and teaches Bible and sings hymns so much to our two homeschooled children that she feels like she needs to be covered most of the time. Does this "cheapen" the head covering? I said I didn't think it could. I t is a bold testimony in this day and age. Anyway, we have been in IBF, SBC, and Landmark Missionary Baptist churches in the past. But we are most in agreement with Millennial Kingdom Accountability teaching.( Saved by grace thru faith, rewards in the Millennium are by works, or properly, fruit bearing.)

Dear KB,
Welcome! Nice to have you on board. We used to live in N. Texas too. That was way before my wife covered. In answer to your question, I don't think your wifes decision will cheapen the testimony of the covering. The thing we've always pointed out is the testimony while wearing the covering. It can be a blessing when a sister displays a Christ-like spirit while covering. I hope I'm getting the heart of your question. Perhaps you could reword it, if I am not. Anyways, good to have you and your wife here. May the Lord bless yourtime with us.
Ben

Welcome to the board! We are from TX, too, but live in Guatemala. My parents are in Grand Prairie, near Dallas. I think your wife is right to wear the covering all the time.

Dear Kingdom Believer,
I think your wife acts according the Scriptures when she covers her hair during prayer and teaching activities (But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered) 1 Cor. 11:5,6. I assume she teaches children and not men (But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence) 1 Tim. 2:12.
I would be interested to hear why you call yourself a kingdom believer and what Millennial Kingdom Accountability teaching means. By the way what sort of Kingdom do we speak about: the kingdom of heaven (Mat. 13), the kingdom of God (Mat. 21; Mark 10), the kingdom of Christ and of God (Eph. 5:5)?
With sincere greetings, yours in HIM, the King of Kings,
Leo

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Leo, My beliefs are premillennial baptist. I see several aspects of salvation. We who have believed on Christ have been delivered from everlasting damnation by faith in the Son of God. We who are continuing to work out the deliverance of our soul from the power of sin, the world, and satan are progressively being sanctified by obedience to the word of God. We who do not try to keep our live for our own, but lose ourselved in Him, shall keep it for the next age.
We see a distinction between salvation the free gift offered to all who might believe in Christ, and the prize of reigning with Christ when He returns for the thousand year period described in Revelation 20.
I hope you do not think this makes us legalists. We do not impose our standards on others.
Please Google Roel Velema in the Netherlands. He has a bilingual site that is very close to my beliefs. But my beliefs did not come from him. They came from my own Bible studies. We do not follow any man's teachings, just the Word of God. I will not discuss it further on this forum because that is not the purpose for this forum. I have a forum related to the gospel of the kingdom at board.gotkingdom.org though.
