We the Smith family have been trying to save Electric and Water.
Our January bill was $199.99 for both our (water and electric combined)
...they do combined billing here, we get our water and electric from the same company.
Our February bill was 168.44 that was a savings of... $31.55
Our March bill just came it is $149.22 Praise the Lord we saved another...$19.22 ;D
We've got our bill down $50.77 total since January's bill. I'm so happy! All that hard work of turning off lights and only running one light upstairs at night and no lights during the day, and were starting to hang out most of our close even though it is still very cold here, they get dry enough to only have to put them in the dryer a very short time.
That $50.77 will buy more stock up supplies!
Soon we will start washing out side buy hand and save tons of water.
My electric company said I used 800 less gallons of water this month. They said water is pretty cheep, and that my real savings was my electric, because electric prices are high.
Our family is working hard toward saving money and energy.
Save! Save! Save! thats our goal around here.
Catch the bug!

Praise the Lord! My first electric/gas bill at this house I am currently living was $408.00 that was keeping the heat at 72 degrees I then turned it down to 60 degrees and the bill was then $250.00 it was a good saving, but my little daughter and I have froze all winter. This place is not insulated well at all, we are moving out when the lease is up, the owner or the property management does not want to do anything to winterize this place and I can't continue to pay those high prices...this place is an ongoing money pit and I don't even own it. I am thankful though I do have a place to live, when my daughter and I are snuggled deep in our beds trying to stay warm, my thoughts go out to all the homeless people out there who are trying to stay warm under bridges and dark alleys. My heart truly goes out to those poor souls.. Thank you dear Jesus for what I do have Love Sis Debbie

Amen sister! I'm thankful too, and hurt for those people who suffer so, we do have alot to be Thankful for.
Our wood heater works well and saves us money on the electric. Being cold is no fun, we did that for 11 years, now we are able to know what warm feels like, our old house you could feel air blowing in the windows, and under the door, and we burned tons of wood and never were really warm, we had to wear light jackets and sweaters and socks or house shoes and wrap up in blankets. Now we go bare footed most of the time and never a light sweater or jacket is needed. The insulated windows and insulated walls and doors make all the difference and our house is over twice the size of our old house. There is not a day that goes by that we do not remember how things were and we are thankful. It's the hard times that cause us to remember and be thankful.
I hope you find a really nice, warm home that saves you money, maybe a rent to own home.
Have a great day!
