I was reading our local paper yesterday morning and came across this article written to the editor ...this man is a nut case >:(and needs lots of prayer.... this is what he wrote "Burn a Bible"
"Reading the letters to the Tribune has made it clear that the leading cause of brain damage in the region is the Bible. Nothing hallucinates a victim more thoroughly then the Bible-not LSD, mushrooms, pot, or meth. In fact, I'd say a person doing LSD stands a much greater chance of communication with God than someone reading the Bible or going to church. At least that person's hallucinations are more based in reality than those who spew Bible verses. When will we wake up as a society and rid ourselves of the evil that is the Bible? I say free your mind and burn a Bible today. Corey Wicks"
This individual is either wanting attention or is brain dead from LSD, POT, or Meth, either way for someone to write such a letter for any reason is evil, and we as Christians must pray for people like this and keep our children far away! Sis Debbie

Wow, sister...I'm praying for that dear, poor man. Perhaps you should write a letter back?
Love in Christ,
Little sister Sarah

Greetings! I came across an old book that I've had in my library for some time now and in it has some words concerning Scripture that perhaps this man should have taken note of. The name of the book is entitled, "Keys to Christian Living" written by Luella Knott. "The Bible! Indeed not an ordinary book! Hated and hounded as no other book has ever been and yet indestructible; despised, and yet honored, derided and yet highly esteemed, declared dead, and yet alive. Mighty emperors, kings and priests have shunned no toil and no guilt in order to exterminate it; wise and scholarly men have, in the sweat of their brow, thoroughly refuted it; and now, that higher criticism lords over it and science has done away with it,..." It is still going out throughout the world in hundreds of languages. Men and women in over sixty countries today still are willing to risk their very lives just to have even a page from it. The challenge for all of these "Scholars" and "Critics" is a simple one: Do but write such a book as this and we will believe you! "The Bible is true; if fact, the only true thing amid the great lie of the world." Like many others before this man and sadly many who will follow him God's word will be routinely attacked, denied, and ignored by this world. But as tragic as this man's letter to the editor is and even greater tragedy is when that same word of God is attacked, denied, and ignored within the church. The problem of biblical illiteracy runs rampant in far too many churches today. Not just in the "Main Line" churches but churches everywhere. A friend of mine is currently serving as an interim pastor at a Baptist Church where one of the complaints that he has received was that he read too much Scripture in the service. TOO MUCH SCRIPTURE? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? In my own recent experience of church services recently I have found there is very little Scripture in use. People are for more willing to be entertained and thrilled with a music induced emotional high that study for themselves from His word and hear that word proclaimed so they can be encouraged to live for the glory of God. Okay enough for now I'll get of my soapbox and move on.
