Our Board Standard: Updated, Please Read

Dear Friends,
We are glad that you have stopped in for a visit. If the Lord leads we hope you'll join and be a part of our discussion board.

The following is a short list of issues on which we take a stand.

1. The is a KJV ONLY site. Though we have friends and brethren who think differently, we reserve the right to edit discussions that are not supportive of the AV 1611 better known as the King James Version. Questions and discussion are encouraged, but we will put a high priority on the KJV.

2. This site is baptistic in doctrine. Again we have many brethren who are not Baptists. It cannot be said too many times or too strongly, we are saved by placing faith in the finished work of Christ and his work on Calvary...nothing added, nothing taken away. However, our doctrines are best represented among those who take a historic baptistic stand on doctrinal issues.

3. This is a conservative site. We believe in godly, modest, careful, views on Christian practices. When it comes to fashion, entertainment (music and video,) amusements, New Age medicanes like homeopathy, celebrating pagan holidays, i.e., Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc., we are going to always favor, support, and enforce godly conservative views. Those who wish to recommend otherwise should simply withdraw their membership and find a place where they are free to promote such things.

4. This site is not:

* A place to collect new members for your message board. If you would like to be on this board and participate with the brethren, you are welcome here.
* A place to only participate in Private Messages, please utilize your personal email account.
* A place to advertise your home business, e-business, etc., without prior approval.
* A list from which to invite people to your church/fellowship group, (without prior approval.)

This is an online community, not a shopping center for cyber drifters and spammers. Invitation to or advice to attend some fellowship, buy some product, etc. is not particularly endorsed by this forum. Approval to advertise should be cleared with the administration of this board through a Private Message or email.

5. Finally, and importantly, one does not have to agree or practice as I have expressed, but we would desire that one would respect and honor our stand here at Head Covering Baptists. If you find that your opinion or stand on an issue is in opposition to the stand of this board, you are to graciously submit, or bow out and find another on-line community on which to be a part.

NOTE: Please be careful with the selection of your screen name on this board. We would like to use words and phrases that honor the Lord ones that do not sound like words the world uses. Lets just keep them biblical, or plain and simple, your real name would be fine, even a nick name if it is without question. Just no worldly insenuations. There are literally untold thousands of churches, movements, and web sites that don't take a strong stand on anything thinking that that is the way you best love everyone. We beg to differ. The time has come for those who are sold out to God to stop drawing lines between us and the world and making gaps.

Dear sister,

This is something I just posted on another thread , and it answers your question about Do we practice Christmas.

We do not believe a tree is good ( Baal bush), and of coarse not Santa , or excessive gift giving , etc... We choose to reach out to others with the love of Christ during this time of year where the world acknowledges the birth of Christ.

We are setting our own traditions according to our scriptural beliefs and understanding. We do not focus on self, but others outside our family who are in need spiritually or physically.

We do not go all out and practice Christmas like most. We put up our Nativity scene and play Cd's with songs about the birth of Christ. We try to focus on others this time of year, we teach our children to give to others and meet their needs and show the Love of Christ. We give one simple gift to each family member...The 5 youngest children are getting a coloring book each and a large pkg of crayons to share, my oldest girls are getting an Anchor Hocking clear glass plate with flowers on it for their tea parties ( I found them at Old Time Pottery for 1.99 each! ), my son is getting a metal brain teaser puzzle ( a set of 4 that cost 3.99 ), and bro Ben is getting... Can't say...as of yet, he'll read and find out! I do not know what I'm getting, they always surprise me with a blessing. Christmas is not stressful here, just alot of fun with the focus on Christs birth, we have a big family meal and lots of baked goodies and homemade treats.

We decided this year to give a box of food to a neighbor. Our church gave a big box too. When we got there we found out that the woman ( the provider, he is disabled and very sick, they have two teens) is loosing her factory job of 14 years this Dec 22. God knew they need a blessing, thats why He put them on our hearts to bless. We invited them to our new church, he will be coming with us The first Sunday of January! Praise the Lord. While we were there we found out that our neighbor had died, we took her some candy and a big beautiful candle and a candy cane from my 8 year old and a homemade card from my 10 year old. Last night I took her some homemade chicken soup. We have a few more things to do for her. We are also going to bless a little boy we know named David. Every year we bake and hand out goodies and tracts to our neighbors, thats always fun to do and a blessing!

This is the balance we have found and feel comfortable with as a family.

I do not do the Christmas Tree and all the other things either. I don't condemn or cast aspersions on anyone who does but when I get the opportunity I like to witness to them about such things. The only real "decoration" I have is a little ceramic Church that has a light in it. It reminds me of where I like to be.

I have to be at the hospital door at 6 AM in them orning but I am going to Church tonigh.

I cannot tell you how much my daughter, Leah and I appreciate this discussion board! What a gift to us pilgrims here in N.Wisconsin. We have not anyone who can relate to us concerning headcovering. We only Praise our Dear Lord Jesus Christ because He is blessing and helping us.

What happened yesterday is a great example of how God uses the covering. At the store a lady came up to me at the check out and asked what religion I was and why was I covered. I gave her a gospel tract, and explained some things out of the Bible... she was not serious and I did not hear God's leading to talk in depth to her. However she told the girl at the check out that I was probably really happy because I could talk to these "heathen" today. I told her I am a heathen too and that is why I need the Lord Jesus Christ... He is the only One that can save us.... she didn't want to hear this but made some comments about many ways to God. I told her,some believe that, but that is not what God says... well, that was all she wanted to hear... I asked their names and told them I'd pray for them... Julie is the aggressive one, but the much younger and listening with interest is Martha, I gave her a tract as well... please pray for them.

What I really want to say is Thank you for creating this site!

Darlene, you have such a compassion for our Saviour, God bless you as you have ministered to many sisters! I loved what you said in the "Under Ground Board members"
