The question is do we bear fruit?
Is our life affective for the Lord Jesus Christ?
We should be a witness to the lost, but we should also live a life that is ''a witness for Christ'' and ''a pleasant and clear picture of a real christian'', ''one who is careful in the things they say and do.''
Some folks argue the scriptures about many different things, always tied up in arguing their liberal thinking on an issue, but the question is are they living a life that brings honor and glory to God? Are they a thoughtful, careful christian, desiring to honor the Lord in all they say and do?
We meet alot of people and most christians argue and make excuses for compromise and sin, they try to make sin and compromise look ok. They say, I'm under grace, not the law, or thats legalism, or thats old testament, or my preacher does it, or this ''godly'' person I know does it! or God gives us liberty...etc.
What about our testimony?
What about the way people see us?
Our life is a picture, are we pointing others to Christ? We should live a life that points the lost and saved alike to Christ and a godly clear christian walk and testimony for Christ.
Are we living for self, or for Christ and others?
Are we selfish?
Are we concerned with the lives of others?... those all around us, who are watching our lives and need a clear picture of what a real christian is, and what a real christian should and should not be doing??
God cares.
Gods word is very clear.
Christians need to get back to fervently reading and studying their Bible, the precious word of God.
People sometimes wonder if they are saved? The thing to worry about is do you love the Lord?
Are you drawing closer to God?
Is God real in your life?
Do you love the Lord?
Do you care about the things of God? The things God cares about and is concerned about?
Are you a thoughtful, careful christian?
If you have been born again, something in your soul should be drawing closer to God.
We are all at different stages of our christian life, but we all should be growing, and drawing closer to God, we should care about living a life that is pleasing to our Lord and Saviour.
We should not make excuses for sin and compromise in our christian life, justifying our actions and deeds. Making light of our walk and testimony for Christ. It is important!
Are we bearing fruit?
Do people look at our life and say, ''I see Christ in their life''...they love and honor the Lord with their life'',... ''their life brings glory to Christ''... and ''they are a godly, careful christian'',... ''they are on fire for God!''
Or do they say'' there a nice person'',... ''they do nice things for others'',..., they go to chruch,...''they are religious'',... ''they say they are a christian''..... But when they talk to you and look at your life it is pretty much the same as theirs, except you do not go to the bar, drink, commit outward adultery, or say cuss words, or talk dirty''... Thats all fine a good, but what do you have to offer them?
I know unsaved people who have that same type of testimony minus the religious part and church attendance, and they are morally good nice people, who would not do you any harm, and would give you the shirt off their back, or bend over backward to help you, any way they could, but that does not mean they shine bright for Jesus.
We are to be different from the world, much different. We are do exceed and excel the best the world has to offer others, because the living God dwells within our hearts and lives, We should be different, much different. A shinning light that reaches out in a real way, without us even having to say a word, our life should speak volumes for the Lord Jesus Christ, and be a shining testimony for christianity. People should be able to learn just from watching us. We are not just supposed to touch lives in a silent way (by observation), but also in an outward, vibrant, verbal way, with the Love of Jesus pouring out of us to others. A kind word, or deed at the grocery store, gas station, or other public place, conversations should always lead to, and have Christ incorporated into the conversation, We should hand out good gospel tracts ,with a strong, clear, salvation message in it.
May the Lord be glorified in everything we say and do, even at home when no one is watching, or other times when no one is around. We should always be aware of our christian growth, and the fact that God is always watching our deeds and actions, even those of the heart, and we need to understand that, the choices we make, help us to become the person we are. If we want to be strong for the Lord we need to make the right choices, we need to abstain from things we justify as ok. Does God see our choices as ok, and good and right choices?
Some folks when asked would Jesus watch that movie or do that deed, or go to that place, they reply,...''yes He would''. I disagree. The Lord would not waste his time on idleness or entertainment to satisfy His flesh, He would better spend His time interacting with people and while doing so He would be teaching them great spiritual truths, and not all just by what He says, but by the choices He makes and the things He is observed doing while interacting with others, His time would also be well spent praying and reading Gods holy word, He would also be out preaching the gospel (soul winning), bringing healing to others, doing good deeds, etc.
Should we not spend our time as the Lord spent His? We are not the Lord but we are His representative. Shouldn't our testimony be clear and our time well spent?
Our time is short... Only what is done for Christ will last.
Desiring to be all the Lord would have me be, and do what would be pleasing in His sight.... Love, ~ sister Darlene ~
