We have been studying the theme of anger and malice in our daily devotions and have been particularly drawn to the following verses: Ephesians 4:30-32 (King James Version)
30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
and
Colossians 3:7-9 (King James Version)
7In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
We have stopped watching so much of the news because it disturbs us and raises up anger in us about how Christians are being treated these days. We know that martyrdom is most likely our lot and we are trying to be worthy disciples of Our Lord.
