I was raised in a Christian home. My dad was Mennonite and my mom was a Methodist. We attended a Baptist church becuse it was close and easier to attend, Throughout my life I made many professions of faith, but always doubted the security of those professions. It was always assumed I would be a preacher because I was the oldest grandson and also had the most interest in the things of God. I attended Bible College where I met and married my wife. We worked in various churches as the Youth team as well as pastoring the Baptist church I had attended as a child. In 1986 while working in a church in Northglenn Colorado I had a long talk with a very dear brother and he led me through the scriptures and I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me. I was baptized that same night. I turned my back on God and church in 1989 due to a problem with some pastors and have been out of fellowship for the last 20 years. My wife pased away in 2003. The last year or so the Lord has been dealing with me about getting back into fellowship with him. I repented if my backslidden state and am now looking to grow and learn more about his Word and plan for my life.
I currently live where there are no solid Bible believing churches. I fellowship with the Lord in my home with my kids by way of online sermons and bible reading. I am conservative in my bible beliefs, believe in rightly dividing our bible for study but am not a Hyperdispensationalist. I am not a Calvinist. I call myself a bible believer. Most folks would call me a Baptist which doesn't bother me. The Bible is my final Authority.
I am looking for fellowship with people who have a solid belief in standards of Christian conduct. The posts I have read on the forum show you are solid in this area. I am also a firm believer in the King James Bible being the perfect, preserved, and inspired Word of God.
(This is exactly what I told Brother Ben in my application for membership) I mean every word of it.
I am really looking forward to learning and growing here with you.
