Apparently, while our troops are getting picked off in a decaying Afghanistan front, our (gulp) President, (and Oprah, that icon of virtue,) has been globe trotting to Copenhagen, Denmark, to meet with the International Olympic Committee. Of course the IOC doesn't want to have the Olympics in the gang violence capitol of the U.S., Chicago, home of our fearless leader. Democrats, barking, as the liberal tail that elected them, wags them to push the white house to not send any more troops until and "effective exit strategy" is devised. Hah! Don't they know what would happen if we did that!!! "Sure, American friends, we'll have a cease fire, you move out, and we'll wave as the last soldier flies away" Brethren, I hate war, I am for peace, but WE ARE THERE AND WE CANNOT LEAVE. This leaves ONLY ONE option...victory. You either surrender, or rearm and Katy Bar the Door, it's time to fight. Please pray for the leadership of our country to awake from this political game-playing and give our men and women in uniform what they need to strike a lethal blow to the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Oliver North said: "On Wednesday, September 30, a full month after General Stanley McChrystal submitted his "assessment" of the situation in Afghanistan, President Obama convened a three-hour meeting of his "national security team" in the White House Situation Room to "discuss next moves." According to information subsequently provided by the White House press office, General McChrystal "participated in the meeting" via an encrypted video link and no decisions were made.
Less than 24 hours later, the commander in chief boarded Air Force One and headed, not to meet with his commander on the field of battle, but to Copenhagen, Denmark, to meet with the International Olympic Committee. His mission: Convince the IOC to select Chicago as the site for the 2016 summer games. Apparently, winning Olympic gold for Chicago is more important than winning a war.
That's not just my opinion, that's the sense of many who have put their lives on the line in Afghanistan. On Wednesday, as the "Sit Room" meeting was ongoing, I was with a grievously wounded Navy SEAL at the National Regional Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. His concern was not for his own life-threatening injuries, but on his mates, carrying on the fight without him." Fox News article. May God give us more men with level heads and a working knowledge of how to bring the conflict in Afghanistan under control.

I want to add that I write this out of frustration. I realize that as a country, God deals with America on a national level, not as a nation of believers because we are not. As a matter of government policy, the United States of America needs to accomplish their task of getting Afghanistan under control BEFORE they cause the sensless death of both U.S. and Afghany men, women, and children. They say they do not want another Viet Nam, but it was stuff just like this that caused Viet Nam to escalate to the level it did. When they stopped running the war from the field and started running it from Washington it became a no win situation. America needs to fight or leave, and option two is impossible. As I said in my post, I hate war and I am for peace, but the U.S. is going to have to make strong moves if they are going to save our soldiers from becoming victims of a protracted war.

Brother Ben, I lay the blame for the recent deaths of eight of our troops in Afghanistan directly at the feet of Obama. He waited for at least 30 days after General McChrystal requested additional troops before he (Barakus Obamus Caesar) even spoke to the General. On a recent day when he should have been thinking of adding more troops to help with the protection of those already deployed he got on Air Force One and headed for Copenhagen. He went to talk to the head of the International Olympic Committee. It appears to me the Olympics are more important to Obama than are our troops. I find that extremely sad. It is compounded when it was released either last night or this morning that it will be even longer before he makes a decision in this area. I wonder how many more of our young men and women will die because of his lack of action? God help our country!
In Christ, George

I realize the best thing we can do is heed:
2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
God may or may not chose to have mercy on our land and on our soldiers, but if God's people will humble themselves before the mighty hand of God, we will have hearts that can sense his presence and leading.

What is victory in that situation - a situation engineered by Bush & Blair & their lackeys for their own hubris & justified by a pack of lies. I had really hoped we'd seen the last of Blair, but now he's wanting to become the most powerful man in Europe, as President of a new European super-state. Tony Blair, for crying out loud! I can't remember the exact verse off hand, but isn't there something about God raising up the 'basest of men' to positions of such power?

Right, amen, I never said there was. However, God does ordain nations to have, support, and enforce their codes of law. The U.S., and other supporting nations went to war with Al Quada and the Taliban. Regardless to who was in the White House at the time, it was the job of the U.S. to put those groups in their place. It is not a wholesale slaughter of the Afghany people.
I never said I believe there is a Christian mandate to fight, there is only a Christian mandate to pray. Individual believers have to wrestle with the issue of whether they should be in the Armed Forces.
Whether Mr. Blair has his short comings or not is not my issue. Radical Islam started the fight, the U.S. took them to task for their grievous offense, and all I am saying is that the U.S. needs to finish their task.
Our internal agencies are watching them "in" our countries the best they can. They just recently foiled a plan to reap havoc here in the States. I'm sure your intelligence agency (isn't it M12 or something like that?) is doing what they can.
They are the last days, this is all going somewhere. And a world leader is on the horizon, perhaps, in our very courtyard!

Politically speaking, victory is relative to the circumstances of the current conflict. Because we are at war with an "ideal" rather than a "country," we have to, as best as possible, determine the enemy, and confront him in the most effective way.
Islamic extremism, the enemy at present, is hard to box in and bring to an end. However, if the countries concerned with any shot at normalcy, are going to have any success, they must act decisively and swiftly. The enemy does not look at diplomacy as a good thing...only weakness.
Whether their were WMO's in Iraq or not, they were still in clear violation of the stipulations put on them in the first Gulf War. The member nations had every right to go into Iraq whether they had anything to do with 9/11, or 7/7, or WMO's.
As for as I'm concerned, I still don't trust ANYTHING, I repeat, ANYTHING, Russia does or is involved with. I still believe they are the archenemy of freedom for any peoples.
As to the concept, God on our side, I never have alluded to or suggested, God is on our side. I think the men who have some sort of purpose or mission at the helm are fully aware of those on this globe who ARE bent on global domination. Shall we sit back, (as nations,) and do nothing? We should not move forward, as a nation, because we think God is on our side, (though we desperately need him on our side!) but because of the following:
Ecc 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
I have a quote from someone:
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke

I hope you will pardon the comment here from a lady. I know that it is not the usual for a woman to comment on matters of military or political nature but I feel compelled to do so here as the wife of a man who served our country for 27 years retiring at the highest rank and as the mother of 2 sons who are serving their country, both heros in their own right. I am an American, I bleed red, white, and blue. I love my country and the freedoms that it affords me. I have lived all over the world, but no soil is so cherished as this land. It must be seen as good to many others as we have so many aliens, both legal and illeagal trying to make America their home too. I do not love war, but peace and freedom come at the highest cost. Thomas Jefferson said it best, "I would rather have dangerous freedom, than peaceful slavery." We are able to worship as we wish and cover as we wish and serve God as we wish because all through the history of this great nation we have been blessed to have brave men and women who were willing to pay the ultimate price for freedom. The days are fast approaching when these freedoms may not be ours anymore. The days of the "underground" church may be just around the corner. The fields of Christendom have been said to grow best when watered with the blood of the saints. It has happened before and it could happen again. I will support our troops as long as they need my support. And I will pray for our president that God will lead him in right directions and that he too will recieve Christ as Savior as our last president did. Peaceably, Sister Pamela

They're our sons, they're our daughters, They're the boy that lives next door. They're the clerk down at the grocery, They're the one's that go to war. Most do it not for malice, Or to kill someone with glee, They feel it is their duty, To fight to keep us free. All may not see things eye-to-eye, And everyone can't go, But someone has to stem the tide, To stop the dangerous foe. Yes our country's far from God, All do not laud his name, But freedom oft is bought with blood, That's why our Saviour came! Remember you can meet in peace, And (for now) saint need not die. So pray for them out on the front, Who need God's wathcful eye.
