3 of us in my family got the '' Swine Flu '' (H1N1 ) this summer, me and two of my girls, it was the flu. yuck, no fun at all. Bad sick at your stomach, feaver, then head ache, and sore behind our nose in the back of our throat, runy nose. The worst part last for two days, we were unable to do anything but lay around. after that I had a runny nose for two weeks. I was pregnant at the time and couldnt shake it off. The two girls 9 and 11 (actually the two that just got Baptized) were only sick for two days. We are pretty healthy around here and bounce back quickly and have lessoned side effects. We have 9 in the house and only 3 of us got sick.
No flu shots for us.

Amen Sis. Darlene, Personally I will not get any vaccine. Here is a wonderful link that talks about vaccines and how they are made. www.thinktwice.com/First a story - Alistair Cook wrote his "Letters from America" for many decades. In one of these he mentioned (I think the death of) Prof Salk to a youngster. "Who was he?" "He developed the vaccine against polio." "What is polio?" Now that is a testimony to the success of that vaccine. When I was a boy, growing up in a seaport (Southampton) polio was a scourge. Lots of children were crippled, & wore leg irons. I had the vaccine when it became available. For every Heart-wrenching personal stories by parents whose children were harmed by vaccines there will be many thousands of "success stories" of those who have no story to tell. Diseases have been eradicated by vaccination programmes. We all live without fear of diseases that once were the scourge of childhood. Sadly, the scare stories have resulted in diseases like measles & TB returning, & taking their toll. Swine flu is different. Its basically a mild flu & it seems that the risks of the vaccine & the tamiflu treatment are comparable with with the disease itself. I had the original flu vaccine 40 years ago - the firm organised it for all the staff. I was ill with flu for 3 weeks. I thought "never again." As a diabetic I was advised 10 years ago to have the normal flu jab every year. I have had no reaction & no flu. The nurse who administered it this year apologised for not having the swine flu injection available. When I responded, "good," she said most of her patients reacted the same way. As my general health is good, I will not be having the jab. I have not seen any correlation between the complications from the jab, & complications of H1N1 & complications of tamiflu. Would those who die from the flu be particularly at risk from the treatment also?

Quote: For every Heart-wrenching personal stories by parents whose children were harmed by vaccines there will be many thousands of "success stories" of those who have no story to tell. This is an opinion. Equally there are those who do not accept vaccines that do not get the disease, these are ''success stories too!'' You do not hear many horror stories from those who do not choose to take vaccines. Don't you think the government would expose these cases and make an example out of them? I haven't heard of any. Quote: Diseases have been eradicated by vaccination programmes. This is an opinion also. Some say disease is cyclical and it comes and goes in cycles. I choose to believe this. Quote: We all live without fear of diseases that once were the scourge of childhood. Sadly, the scare stories have resulted in diseases like measles & TB returning, & taking their toll. Humn, quote: the scare stories have resulted in diseases like measles & TB returning, & taking their toll. I haven't heard that scare stories have convinced people not to get vaccines, thus they have gotten '' Measles and TB '' and it's now taking it's tole [/b] Where is it taking it's tole? Third world countries? Or poverty ridden countries? Probably, also it has reentered America through illegal aliens, from poverty ridden lands, where people are unhealthy, and unclean.I have not heard of any cases of people getting it who make a healthy choice not to accept vaccines. People that are wise enough not to take vaccines are usually health conscious, and they are those who take an active role in the health of their selves, and their families, and are generally healthy people. The masses that take vaccines are usually those who rely on their doctors advice, and help for every ache and pain, and the poor, and elderly. There are many, many, bad health, and horror related stories among the masses who choose to take the vaccine, not to mention their health being a roller coaster because of modern medicine. Modern medicine has it's place, but it's gotten way out of hand.[/color]

I spoke with my Nurse (RN) friend last night and she said she wont get the shot, and none of the nurses she knows will be getting it because it's not safe.
