Sister Debbie, if you could elaborate a bit on what you mean by talking about numbers and such I shall be pleased to give you my input.
You must remember that there are Churches who call themselves Fundamental Baptist who have strayed far from the mark. My own Church was that way until The Lord sent Pastor Jim Schettler to us. We are returning to what being an independent, fundamental Baptist is all about. Praise God for that!
In Christ, George

Ok...The Pastor preaches a good sermon, but he talks alot about we need to get our numbers up, their goal is to have 25 more families join the church by the end of the year...they want to run 700 people...they have nine school buses and they also run a school...I was thinking about having my youngest go there to school but I am not sure...they also have a program for young girls and they have them handing out tracks door to door. I don't like the ideal of my daughter going door to door at 6 years old. They have visited me three times in two weeks, wanting me to join...I told them I just moved to the area and didn't want to make any decisions at this time. They baptize on the spot after confession of faith, which I don't have a problem with, but you wonder if the people know why they are getting baptized, this is all new to me...I just don't know...I kinda have a pit about the whole thing, it just seems like they are more interested in the big number of people they are running, I could be wrong....I was talking to a woman who goes to the Pentecostal church, and she said they are always fighting with Bethel Baptist over the children's Sunday school routes...that was a red flag....you know it is really rough trying to find a church, especially when you been in the same church all your life. Waiting to hear Love in Christ Sis Debbie bethelsite.todoz.com/

That is sad, Our old church was like that. We left that when the Lord called us to our new church. Old Path's Bible Baptist Church. It really is an awesome church and what they care about is getting the Word out and feeding the ones that are already saved.

Brother George, What is the name of the church you go to and times of the service? Maybe we could come visit sometime since we are about an hour away.

I know this is an old post but I am an IFB and I am very sorry about your experience. We have a couple of sister churches also, and their standards do not include trying to outdo each other in members... We believe in living a seperated life with Bible standards and we do not cater to the world to add to our church, that is wrong regardless of what kind of church it is...There are some that claim to be Idependant Baptist that we will not have dealings with because they are liberal... Sis. Kristie
