I just got my GVS catalog in the mail and it is filled with great sewing noitions we need to buy.
on pg. 84 there are four books about sewing for conservative men. If any of you have read any of these please tell me what you thought of the book.
Hubby has enrolled in a sewing class with a goal of sewing for men.

I'm not Grandma Dee, but I can answer.
GVS stands for General Variety Store. It's basically a catalog version of an old-time general store, just without the food.
They cater to the plain community and have a lot of cool things. I don't have the number handy or I would give it to you so that you could order the catalog.

I love GVS! It is in Versailles, Mo.. And they sell some things that I love to buy for my dresses and such.. When I went to Mo. I went to GVS and looked around.. As far as making the sewing books about sewing for men.. I have not ordered any but I did look at them when I was in the store.. I love how they are lined out.. Has very good instructions on how to put things together.. I had thought about ordering one and store it in my hope chest that way I have it.. Hope this helps some! Have a very blessed day!! I love GVS also...they have the best knee socks for ladies. My winter favorite is the wool blend, they are so warm and top quality!!
Correction...GVS stands for Goods Variety Store.
I buy my buttons there also, the price is incredible and they have a great selection of colors.
I've also been there a few times and it is so nice. The people are friendly and helpful and they carry things in the store that isn't in the catalog. Very neat place!!!
