I have a question about how you attach the vest front to your dresses. I have purchased a couple vest patterns used. If I remember you said you only made the vest front. Was it sewn in at the shoulder seams and tied at the waist? I forgot what you said I am making my Munchkin a new dress and wanted to try the vest. Then I hope to sew her baby brother a pants, shirt and matching vest for family photos. Thank you grandma dee

Sister Dee,
We are having internet problems at the house. I am going to bring Darlene down to McDonalds one evening, and let her get on the Wi-Fi there and jump on.
Far be it for me to answer on this topic, but I am going to try and if any of you sisters can phrase it better, please do so.
When Darlene and the girls make the two front vest panels, (from what I've seen and remember,) they attach them to the shoulder seams, and the side seams. After the the front and back panels have been attached and the vest is hanging freely, they simply add buttons. Darlene and the girls do not actually make buttons holes, but permanently tack the two vest fronts together and add the buttons for looks.
Does that make sense?

I think it makes sense. I will play with the vest front and give it a try...wondering if the vest fronts are one piece of fabric or lined? hmmmm time to play with this idea. Thanks!
