Dear Brother Ben and Sister Darlene,
Thank you for welcoming me to your Forum.
Just a little bit about me and my family. I have a dearly beloved Husband of 31 years. He is a military man and has been to the war and back. He was gone from our family for seven years at the start of the Iraq war in 2003, with brief visits in between.
My Husband was greatly affected by what He experienced while engaging the Enemy and in training the troops for war. Our family as been negatively impacted due to his military service and His very long absence, as you could imagine.
We have seven children. Our youngest child was 6 months old when my Husband left, and our oldest was 20 years old. (We have four girls and 3 boys--respectively) One of the hardest parts for me was watching my children grow up without a Father...
As I mentioned in your questionnaire that my purpose in wanting to join your Forum is that, "It would be nice to dialogue with other sincere Christians, especially in light of the following passage:
“Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His Name.
And they shall be Mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up My jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.
For, behold, the Day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the Day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
But unto you that fear My Name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the Day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the Great and Dreadful Day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."
I hope to be an encouragement to others, especially as it relates to our walk with God. We so NEED Him! And it is just as I have always told my children--only those who are truly walking with God in the "True Light" (the LORD Jesus Christ) will have a place in the Kingdom of Heaven. And for those who love the LORD, His Word is our Light and His Holy Spirit will lead and guide us into all Truth!
"Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the Author of Eternal Salvation unto all them that obey Him;" Amen!
All praise, honor and glory be unto Almighty God and His dear Son!
May God be with you all at Head Covering Baptists!
With the love of Christ,
