Some of you may remember me when I was on here about 2 years ago. My name is Naomi, and I am 18, almost 19. I am single, but God has blessed me with a Godly young man--we have been courting since March. It is amazing how God put it all together, and led our parents in making the decision.
I have graduated from homeschool, and finished my first year at Crown College in Powell, TN. I am studying missions, and really enjoy it a lot. God taught me so much at school, and has brought me through some hard places. He has shown me that He is faithful, and is always there for me. The biggest encouragement for me, was the first semester when it came time to take finals. The policy is no student may take finals unless their school bill is down to $250 or below. I was able to work on work scholarship, 15 hours a week, which helped on my bill, and I was also working 20 hours a week at a daycare center. However, I still owed $1600, and there was no way I could possibly pay it. Finals started, and I studied with one of my friends, as if I was going to take my finals. I checked with the finance office everyday to see if there had been any change, but the answer was always no. 2 days before we were to leave for Christmas break, I still had not taken a single final, and my bill was still just as high. I checked in with the finance office, and the answer was the same. I went on to work in the kitchen at school, and as we were getting ready to serve lunch, I checked my phone, and I had a voice mail from the finance office. Someone had anonymously put $1600 on my bill, and I was able to take my finals!! God is SO good, and while everyone was packing to go home, I was able to get my finals taken. It was such an encouragement to me!
I am spending summer break working at a hospital in Morristown, 45 minutes away. I really enjoy my job working in the kitchen. I keep the nurses stations stocked with sodas, snacks, etc, and also help with the dishes, and the food line, as well as take late trays to patients (when a patient gets in late, or gets his order in late for a meal). It is different being in a secular environment, but I am praying that God will use me to be a light to those I work with. There are so many people that work there that need God in their life. I believe God has given me this job as my mission field this summer, and I pray that God will use me.
Well, this is getting long, but I just wanted to stop in a say hi to y'all. God has brought me a long ways in the last 2 years. I will try to post more frequently this time. I may not be on much next week, as I may be taking a "internet fast", but I'll try to check in whenever possible.
