I have been a Christian for about 4 years - but I have been learning and growing so much over the last year. Recently it occured to me that I do not pray for my children like I should. I'd pray general things, but nothing specific to their needs. On April 11th (I try to keep a journal now) I prayed specifically for my oldest son, Tylor. He has been really struggling to keep his temper and not be so emotional. He lets it get the best of him a lot, but I noticed he was doing much better. I prayed that God would work in him and help him learn His word. I prayed more than that, but that's the basics. The very next day he asked if he could listen to a sermon on tape! We get sermons from Charity. Also, we have a few of the Bible study sets. He started listening to a set on Daniel. He's never done this before. Every day since then he's been listening to sermons and studies for at least an hour a day (along with his usual morning Bible reading and evening devotions). Last night was the kicker of it all. I noticed that my youngest son, Corban, was playing by himself for a long time - usually he gets bored and comes to help me with whatever. When it was devotion time, the boys came down together. They were BOTH listening to a sermon and were excited to tell me about what they learned! Praise God. We have such an ungodly background and continue to have many ungodly people in our lives. I am SO THANKFUL that God is answering my prayers so quickly! Prayer is so powerful. I'm also glad I wrote it down - it was so easy to see how quickly it was answered.
