Dear Brethren,
We had to cover the slab with straw and plastic a few months ago to protect it from cold temps, because it was not totally dry the day they poured it and the temp. went down in the 20's that night..
We've never uncovered it, but Sunday we dropped by to see our property and check on the slab. It was doing great, from what we could tell by pulling away the plastic on the edge. The Straw is sprouting under the plastic. I guess we should uncover it soon. I'd like to have a pick nick on our land on my birthday, Well the Saturday after my Birthday. We'll probably uncover it then.
We do need much prayer in the area of our home to be built very soon, our money is running low and we will have to use all our income tax money to put with it, to finish the basement, that does not include windows, doors, or a roof, just the walls, French drain, and weathered in from ground moisture, we are strapped financially... between two properties, we sure need to move. Our only option is a miracle from the Lord or get a third loan. We need much prayer!
A third loan would be very stressful, but we would be living on our property, our house would not be finished , but livable.
We do appreciate and need your prayers in this much needed area of our life.

Sister Darlene, I will be praying that you all are able to get what you need to finish your house. I understand what you mean by a third loan being stressful. I so want to live debt free if at all possible. We are working on getting rid of all out debt (which Praise the Lord isn't extremely bad) and only having our house payment and monthly utilities. And then I would like to work on reducing our house debt rapidly. So I know where you are coming from. ;D

Dear Brethren,
Last Friday, March 24 we met with our friend and discussed the borrowing the money needed to finish our home. He said he would be glad to loan us the money and we will pay him back like rent payments, no interest. Money will be tight but our money will be going into our property and our land not this rental house and property. Praise the Lord for He is good to his dear children! This has been a hard step out in faith for us. And we have witnessed the mighty hand of God every step of the way. There have been times of unsure feelings of how, and if this will all work out ,and times of much stress, and very tight funds. But the Lord has held our hand and tenderly led us through this hard pathway, and we have been comforted by the Lord and seen His mighty hand of provision, and have learned how to walk closer to God and how to hear His still small voice leading us. And were not to the end of this rocky path yet...Please continue to lift us up in prayer.
Our christian friend called over a month ago and asked how the house was coming and I told him were waiting for good weather, then we'd be able to put up the basement walls, but that we would then be out of money, and that we were praying about whether we should borrow the money from a friend and finish the job. He said I'll loan you the money! I did not even know he could loan the money, most people do not have that kind of cash available. We had another Bro. in mind that sometimes loans out large amounts of money to help the brethren not have to get a bank loan, we were not sure if he would even have the needed funds available or if he would even feel led to lend to us for this project, but we were praying about it none the less, and then this other brother calls and offers to loan us the money needed to finish.
What a blessing! God is so abundantly good to His dear children.
He is a mighty God the God of the IMPOSSIBLE! All things are possible with God! The baptist brother that dug our basement, dug and poured our footer, and prepped and poured our slab, and he put up the first row of block, all for for free, and now the Lord has provided the interest free loan that we needed.
Prayer is the answer, God loves for us to seek His face and His will for our lives...He will guide our path.
This is sort of a negative thing but I thought it was interesting, now that I look back on what all took place that night...Satan just wanted to give us a punch in the gut before our abundant blessing was reveled. A few min before Ben and I walked out the door to go meet with our friend about the loan, Bonnie my oldest daughter found that our LG capacity stand up Deep Freezer was thawed and everything was ruined...everything! All our ''Meat, all our Vegis'', and all our fruit we had put up and nuts too. Gone...4 big black yard size trash bags full it took my three teenage children to carry the bag because the bags were so heavy. We have been eating the food in the other freezer and have not thought to check on that one ever since the Missionary's came. I was so upset...that was not an easy loss, We needed the meat and vegis the most. A family of 10 eats alot of food. I had stocked up that freezer and it was a blessing to us. Oh well... The Lord allowed it and this too shall pass... we will not starve, but it is a great loss.
We went to meet our friend about the loan with this heavy burden on our heart and then found out that he would loan us the money needed. Then I remembered about our freezer and I thought...The devil is trying to discourage us...The bright side is we do not have to unpack the freezer and clean it out before we move. And I do not have any money to refill it so it's empty and ready to go. Amen! The flesh would like to have the needed food, but the spirit can and will rejoice in the Lord. The Lord hath done great things! And I will rejoice and be glad in Him! He is a mighty God worthy of praise!
Rejoicing in the Lord, ~ sister Darlene ~

Sis. Darlene, You are such a breath of fresh air to me. Your testimony just blesses my heart... how you can find the good in the bad! What a blessing and encouragement you are to me.
As my relationship with the Lord grows, I'm learning so many things. One thing that I was reminded of when reading your post is that I've noticed that when things go wrong (in our eyes) that just around the corner is a huge blessing from the Lord just waiting for us as we learn to lean on Him through the hard times.
Thanks so much for sharing. I'm happy things are starting to pick up on your house too. ;D

We went to the property last Wednesday June 7th and worked on the property, Ben and Benjamin dug out the dirt that had collapsed around our slab. It was a hard job, but they got it done. Saturday June 10th we went back to the property and our friend/brother in Christ, Christian came up to the property with his bush hog and he bush hogged our very over grown property. What a sweet brother he is too. He drove 1 hour and 45 min to our property and 1 hour and 45 min back to our house and all the gas it took to bush hog. And he would not let us pay him. Now thats a christian...his name fits him.
It cost us $31 in gas to go to our property. Ben said we can't do that often. I love going to the property. It's a joy and a blessing to me. On Tuesday June 13th we got a phone call from Christian he left a message on our answering machine. We never knew until last night Friday 16th that he had left a message. We have been so busy I forgot to check for phone messages.
He said that they have special prayer on Mondays for our family that he invites anyone who wants to come...his grown children and their wifes and the others in his community. Well last Monday June 12th they gathered for prayer and afterward his son Johnathan ( early 20's just married last year ) said he would like to put on our metal roof on our New home and pay for it as well. He said no one asked him to do this or prodded him, that he came up with it on his own that it is something he wants to do for our family. Wow! What can I say...This is a BIG blessing and from such a young man too. God is abundantly good. This will save us so much money and truly bless our family in a big way.Last Sunday June 11th some more brothers that are contractors by trade said they want to help build our house. That is another great blessing and answer to prayer. All we have to do is supply the building materials. Then this morning I got a phone call from my dear grandmother the one with the hurting foot. She said that the Lord wants her to buy us a trailer the kind you pull behind your vehicle, I had told her weeks ago that we need one so we can buy and transport supplies from the Home Depot or Lowe's building supply store. She 80 year old widow on a fixed income and her money is tight, but she said the Lord told her to buy us a utility trailer. We are going to need it to transport our belongings and farm stuff to the other property. This is another great Blessing. The Lord has supplied another great need.
Please pray we can find a good trailer for a good price. Also last Sunday June 11th our church had a big Amish style double wedding, there were Brothers and sisters from all over the country. Our friend John Beachy was there he is an older Brother, the father of alot of our dear friends. We haven't seen him in a while. He saw Ben walking and how he struggles so bad with his Rheumatoid Arthritis, he walks with a cane most of the time. Bro John Beachys heart went out to Ben, he said that their is this new natural product endorsed by the world famous director of pediatric neurosurgery at John Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland. His name is Benjamin Solomon Carson. The product is glyconutrients! He says that'' glyconuterients helped save his life and should become a complementary component of our health care system.'' he also says ''It was a shock...said Dr Carson,'' a professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery and pediatrics at John Hopkins University''I had been living a healthy lifestyle and getting regular check-ups. But I had high grade cancer in a very aggressive form'' He also said ''The science made sence to me'' Dr Carson said. '' God gave us (in plants) what we need to remain healthy,'' he said. ''In todays world our food chain is depleted of nutrients and our environment has helped destroy what God gave us'' The article goes on to say...Dr Carson is among a growing legion of high profile medical professionals in this country and around the world who have embraced glyconuteritionals. Many of them have had professional experiences with the nutrients or have seen what they have described as ''miraculous'' changes in their patients who have used them.
The article is long, and I cannot type it all. It is very exciting! It has helped massive stroke victoms, cancer patients, etc...We are prayerfully considering taking it. It wold truly be a miracle if God healed my sweet Ben. Words could not express the joy that would fill our hearts and life....
Bro John sent us the Cd an information in the mail this week, he has offered to help financially with the cost, he cannot pay all, but he has said he wants to help. Wow! What a great blessing and opportunity! I'm praying it will work for Ben.
Please keep us in your prayers, the Lord is doing great things in our behalf. He need and appreciate your faithful prayers for our family. God is so good! I am so excited about so much and encouraged.
Oh buy the way I have been seeing much answer to prayer in my friends and loved ones life as well. And my heart greatly rejoices over that. Thank you for praying for me in that way as well.coveredbaptists.proboards31.com/index.cgi?board=prayer&action=display&thread=1149526896Thank you for all who love us and who lift our family up in prayer, ~ sister Darlene ~
Prayers move the hands of God! P.S I almost forgot to tell yall...This week we called the brother that dug our basement, and dug and finished our footer and slab, We ask him if he could deliver a dump truck load of sand for the basement job. He is a cement contractor and he said that he stock piles all the extra sand on his land from the jobs he does. He said he thinks he has enough just to give us for free! He will call us when it is delivered and then we will order our block, mortar and other supplies needed to build our basement. We are so excited to get started.
Please keep our house project in your prayers...Thank you for praying for us.

We are still waiting on the sand to be delivered, Our friend is currently building a very large Credit Union and he is pressed for time, he keeps thinking he will have time and then finds that his days are just too short. Please pray he can finish his building project soon, and that he will find time to deliver the sand.
We have brothers waiting for us to get the supplies all delivered and ready, because they are eager to get our house built.
We feel the pressure from both sides plus we have our on stresses. It is not easy balancing it all, but we just keep giving it all to the Lord to work all this out in His timing.
Please keep the progress of our house being built in your prayers, and for the Lord to work out all the details.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~
