Through"...have you thought about how great of a word that is?
I know, some of you probably are thinking i might have eaten one too many crawfish last night (and they were SO GOOD!), but no, i didn't and i just don't think that is possible. I really think the word "through" is truly a tremendous word. Think about this:
* The happiness you are overcome with when "through" with big a project for school or work
* The thrill you have when you are finally "through" the traffic that is moving at a snail's pace
* The simple relief that comes when you say you are "through" with something...anything
You see, it's a pretty good word, huh? But what makes it great is this: God will get you THROUGH anything and everything if your faith is in Him alone.
We often pray in our simple human way of understand for God to deliver us, or to get us out of situations that more often than not we get ourselves into; and i think that is OK because God does want us to call out to Him in all things (Phil. 4:6-7)...but that is not always what happens. We may want God to simply remove whatever it is that is causing us to struggle, solve our problems and to make us well; and it us true that God will deliver us from evil if we ask (Matt. 6:13) and will protect us, but ultimately His promise is that He will get us THROUGH.
What we are praying for God to remove may be the very thing that God wants and will use to make us into the kind of people He desires for us to be; men and women of God living lives of great faith.
In James 1:2-4, the disciple and brother of Christ says, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” This is a reminder that life is hard, and that hard stuff really is hard...but God is so good and He will work through our situations and circumstances to make mold us and make us. He is trustworthy and will walk with us through every episode of life and in the process He will finish the work He has begun in us.
I don't know what tomorrow holds for me or you...heck, i'm not even sure what to expect today, but i do know this promise found Phil. 1:6 is true, " Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
It all starts with faith, faith in Christ to save you as you turn to Him in repentance and then faith in living day to day...and God will see you THROUGH. You may feel like you are in the eye of the storm, the heat of the moment, or the Vally of Death (Psalm 23:4); find your faith in God and He will bring you through.
