I was noticing in the newspapers yesterday that some people used Coretta Scott's King funeral to to make political statements that have nothing to do with Mrs. King and that is so wrong. Instead of talking about the war in Iraq and wiretapping someone should have declared war on cancer and diabetes, the conditions that lead to her death. The same thing happened at Rosa Parks' funeral. It's so sad when folks do that. It's so disrespectful.

Sister Regina, Mrs. King was a courageous woman. It is indeed sad when the political left and right use anyone and any situation to advance "their cause." The love from brethren and humanity sometimes takes the back seat to partisinism in politics and Christianity.

I agree it is terribly disrespectful to use the funeral's of either of these fine ladies for political platforms.. how sad, I did not see much of the media coverage.. but have whispered prayers for the families, as if loosing a loved one is not hard enough, but then having all the hub-bub to deal with to. What both women did was amazing and Mrs. Kings husband... well enough said..
In Christ's Love, Heather
