Dear Brothers, I am wondering if any of you have heard about this national ID system that is said to take place on or before May of 2008. It is actually an old bill that was passed a year or more ago, as they passed it through with funding for the military.. however, it sounds a little invasive and strange to me. Here are links to two articles on the subject from a news source, they are both a little long, but very interesting. Anyway, just wondering where you all would rate these things in the scope of things.. These are older articles from 2005 when the bill was passed.. I did read a newer one yesterday that mentioned a North American Union, and the United Nations, but I can't find that link right now, anyway it talked about Mexico, Canada and the US joining up with this ID system to form a North American Union and then eventually this becoming a world wide thing.. Anyway, some are saying it is part of Biblical prophesy, just wondering where you all thought it stood in the larger scope of things. news.com.com/National+ID+cards+on+the+way/2100-1028_3-5573414.html?tag=st.prevnews.com.com/FAQ+How+Real+ID+will+affect+you/2100-1028_3-5697111.html?tag=st.rc.targ_mb

There are many, including myself, who believe this national ID system may just be the mark that is spoken of in the book of Revelation. The use of RFID chips is getting pervasive. Not only is this a complete invasion of privacy it also, in my opinion, gives the government a way to keep track of us and thus infringes on one of our basic freedoms.

We had not heard of it until recently. We are not the best at keeping up with world events.. Anyway, we were thinking the same thing.. Not that the cards were actually the "mark" but that the chips would soon follow, and that they would want to implant them. We saw something in the paper about some people going ahead and getting chipped like animals with all their financial, personal, and medical information on it, to test it to see how it worked.. I mean to us that perfectly fits the description of the mark, that you will need it to do anything even buy food, or to go anywhere.. I know the time of Christ's return is growing closer, and while that in itself THRILLS my soul, it also scares me for the world that my children and ourselves and all Christians will face in the coming years.. but alas, "God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind." so I will not worry for today. I will just continue to pray for my younger children that are yet unsaved (my oldest son (9years old) accepted Christ this summer at Bible School PRAISE THE LORD) and that they will know Christ before His return, and also for all unsaved persons. This just helps to reinforce in me that fact that we as a family need to be doing more to share the gospel and witness to the world. For we know not the hour of Christ's return. Thanks for you input on the subject. I was just wondering if we were being over paranoid, or if others saw it as we did? In Christ's Love, Heather

It is quite interesting that when the chips first started being implanted the people receiving them were told they could only be "read" when the individual is within a few feet of the "reader." Now it comes out that anyone who has the equipment to read the chips that is within about one hundred yards of the individual can access all the personal data on the chips.
It is quite unnerving to me to think that if one has one of these chips anyone can access the data on them without the knowledge or permission of the person who has been implanted. I don't know if any here have read Aldous Huxley's 1984 or another book titled "Brave New World." (They were required reading when I was in high school many years ago.) This use of the RFID chip in humans reminds me very much of the societies written of in those works in which the government had complete control of all the individuals. In fact, in "Brave New World" there was no such thing as an individual.
As with you sister, I don't keep up much with the things of the world. However I have some friends who are quite caught up in end times things. They email me articles and links that describe what is happening with this chip.
I don't know how many folks realize it but if you go to the market, whether it be groceries, home improvement store or whatever, quite often you will find a sort of patch on the article you buy that has a bar code on it. This "patch" is usually much thicker than the normal bar code stickers and when inspected it can be seen this was applied after the article was placed int he box. If these "patches" are carefully removed you will see a little sort of printed circuit under the "patch." With this thing on the box anyone with the proper equipment can actually trace this item to your home. If the "patch" is not taken off and destroyed it is even possible with some of them to locate the articles using satellites. Now that is pretty frightening!

I'm trying to be as cautious in how i say this as possible...and i hope it will not be taken incorrectly. I often hear people say how they are "afraid", "worried" or "concerned" when news like this comes out...basically fear is the dominating mindset. But...as born again believers who have a sure salvation by the grace of God through faith in Christ and repentance; shouldn't news like this actually excite us and motivate us more than anything? Is this not just another reminder that God's word is true and that the Bridegroom will be returning to take His bride home. I can't help but think that we as born again believers should be more hopeful than fearful in light of this.
I'm just thinking...and thanks for giving me that opportunity.

Bro Bob
I agree, we should be excited.. I am not scared at all to see the secong coming of Christ. In fact, I can't wait.. I guess the human nature in me is scared of the tribulations that will come before our Lord returns..
Things are evil and bad now, and they are only going to get worse. We all know that.
My fears are for the souls of my children, that something may influence them or pull them away from Christ, where that they are not saved come the day of redemption. All I can do is to pray, and teach them the TRUTH.. and continue to pray for their protection physically but more importantly of their souls..
Anyway, I couldn't agree with you more that we should not have fear but rejoice in the fact that all these signs mean our LORD is coming soon.. all I worry about (and I know worry is a sin) is what all of us, especially my children, face in the years to come, and as the end times grow to a close..
Thanks so much for your reminder..
I think this is where all the verses and scriptures on fear that were recently posted will come in real handy.. where we should be memorizing and quoting, over and over, until we know them better than our own names. In Christ's Love, Heather

My fear of all these things is of course fleshly, but my heart aches for all those who are not saved, especially my own family, my son who says he is saved, but there is no fruit there is no desire to read his bible, go to church, or anything of that matter that pertains to the Lord My daughter is questioning her own faith as well...........You see God's word says that His wrath will be mighty on the unbelieving....forever to spend eternity in HELL being tortured and separated from God and loved ones FOREVER!! I write this with tears filling my eyes...I love my Lord, but I can wait, I want more time to reach my children, I pray that He will not turn their hearts away, but that He will call them to HIMSELF....AMEN

Debbie,
you make a VERY good point there, and that is something i thought of AFTER i posted my comments. We should be concerned about the lost, especially our loved ones who are lost.

Dear Debbie, I so much understand your concern for your sweet children.... I too am concerned about our son, we only have one child, he is 20 yrs old. What are your children's names? that I may pray for them, if that is ok with you to give out their name if not, don't worry the LOrd knows who I am talking about. It is difficult to raise our children up in the way of the Lord especially if we go to a worldly church, hope I didn't offend anyone. I just mean so many churches today just don't stand on the word of God and they tell their members that it is ok to have one foot in the world and one in God's Kingdom and nothing could be a bigger lie..... Oh my.... It is a sad truth for our day. But our God is greater that he that is in the world and He hears our prayers...... Praise God! We were in a worldly church for most of my childs life but now praise be to God we are in a Godly church were the people love the Lord and want to do right and believe in separation from the world. Of course it isn't perfect but no church is. I will be sure to lift your sweet children up to the LOrd let me know how things are going with them . God bless you! Alane
