Why is it when the media is reporting some so called "big story" is is "news" instead of "gossip? My father in law watches the news and each time it's on there is gossip(and that what it is) about the celebrity woman who died unexpectantly(God knew!) and who the father of her baby is. Since when is it any of our business who the father is? Do we care how much money is at stake? People should be caring more about whether this poor baby will be raised in a warm loving environment and that any family "curse" that is in her family line will be broken. That's what the media should be focusing on instead of what the mother did or didn't do before she died.

I've made the mistake of watching the news a bit over the last few days. I hate that someone died, but I really fail to see how any of it rates as news.
Her loose lifestyle and the fact that there could be multiple "paternal possibilities" is not news. So I guess I'm back off watching news for a while.
I really only care about the weather and local stuff anyway......

i don't like much television at all, a good mystery yes, but the news and such.. my husband tells me anything of importance.. My mom called me for 9-11 becasue I don't watch television, and any other important stuff.. she emailed me about the peanutbutter recall, and DH told me that same night.. I have family out there to inform me and the internet should I be interested enough to do a search.. And pray for that little baby whos dad is undetermined.. who her father truely is will could make or break her getting to hear of or Lord and Savior sooner rather than later in her life.. Just a though, sending up a salvation and protection prayer for this little baby is a good thing.. take about 20 seconds and do it.

We don't watch television at home; however we do visit my mom in Omaha every few weeks. I stayed there 2 weekends ago and was totally amazed at all the media coverage on this person. It really shows where priorities lie. Thankfully the children were not there to see what they were showing on tv.
Psalm 101:3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
I was totally ashamed (and a little sickened) at the little I did see; I tried my best not to look but it was very hard when it was right in front of me (very small apartment, nowhere else to go!!).
Here's a few more verses that came to mind.
Galatians 5:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Titus 2:11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
James 4:4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1 John 2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Here's a good one:
Rom 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
How sad it is when someone dies and goes to hell. The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.
However, it is a blessing to be simple or unadvised about the senseless dribble of the wicked world. I didn't know for several days who won the superbowl, and only heard that as two men talked about it.
There is too much good stuff to busy our minds with. God's people need to value the brain God put in their head and utilize it wisely!
