We were able to collect EIGHT bushels of apples. Any thoughts/ideas on what we can do with 'em? I will can some applesauce! Then, we will peel, core, slice some of them to freeze for apple desserts. I will take a stab at drying some. Any thoughts on drying would be helpful. Like what do you "do" with them after they have dried? ? Then what? can you all tell we are new at this!? TIA

Hi Donna, My sil once had a wreath decorated with dried apples. And my mother uses dried apples in deserts. Let us know what kind of info you find. Sounds like yummy research. Carole

I dried a lot of prunes last year and afterwards I packed them in canning jars, screwed the lids on and then put them in the oven for awhile. As they cooled the lids sealed like they do with regular canning. Just make sure not to leave them in the oven too long. I did, and the prunes on the bottoms of my jars got scorched.
