Hi, sisters! I went to the grocery store today and bought some pickles, and it promptly broke as it came out of the refrigerator. I put the pickles (no glass, thank God!) in a tupperware container, but there's no real liquid in there. What can I do to keep them fresh and safe?
Thanks!
Love in Christ,
Sarah

I would probably take some apple cider vinegar and a little honey or sugar, (no sweetener for dill), (maybe add some kind of spice) and cover the pickles with that.

Thanks! Would white vinegar work? That's all I have at the moment...
Also, about how much? Should it cover the pickles, like in the jar?

I hope I'm not too late!
I get you two Sarah's mixed up, at one time I thought yall were the same person. I think I have it all straight now. ;D
As for the Pickles, White Vinegar would work great! Do you have a cookbook? You could look up a recipe for pickles and just make up a brine using the same spices just in smaller quantities!
White vinegar warmed in a pot add some garlic diced, some salt, a little mustard seed or mustard powder, dill weed, turmeric. Let cool then pour over pickles to cover. You can always drain off the Vineger (if you have already added it) and add all these good spices if you want to. It wont hurt.
I do have a concern though! When a jar breaks it does have tiny sometimes unseen slithers of glass. This could cut your insides and cause a problem. Just a word of caution.
Have a great day!

I was just wondering would it help to wash the pickles? I'm not sure if that would work or not?

Hiya, sisters! I washed the pickles (well, scrubbed them, more like), and put about a 75-25 vinegar to water mix in it. They're tasting fine Thank you SO much! Love in Christ, Sarah (the one at college )
