Bro. Ben, I heard my pastor state on Sunday in his sermon that 7 is God's number for perfection. I have heard this and other numerical things about the Bible for a while, but wonder where it all came from. I have always been taught that the Bible will agree with itself and just wonder if anything about such numerical statements is mentioned anywhere in the Bible and where these things come from.
Thanks, and blessing, Sister Debbie S.

Sister Debbie, I am sorry I missed this. I guess if I'm going to have a "Ask Brother Ben" section, I should get my head out of the sand! Anyways, in answer to your quesiton, yes, 7 is a number that is often repeated in the bible representing perfection. Sometimes people opinions differ a little, but in general there are repeated patterns of numbers and how they are used in the bible. Here is a link to a solid article on Biblical Numerology. Also, I wanted to note, Biblical numerology should not be mistaken for the practice of divination called "numerology" where one "divines" something based on numbers. This is the same error that makes people afraid to have the 13th piece of pecan pie. All I got to say is, if the pecan pie is big enough to have 13 pieces, load me up! ;D I'll eat the 1st, 5th, 10th, 13th, or any other piece! Bro. Ben Ben
