God has opened up the opportunity for me to make cotton scarves to sell in Billy's aunt's store. However I tried cutting some out yesterday, and both that I tried had one edge shorter than the others. I need to make them 33-34 inches, and the one had a side that was 29 inches. I'm not sure what I did wrong--I measured 34 inches and cut, but somehow it ended up short. I'm not sure if the fabric was not straight or what. Any help or suggestions? TIA!

My wife who does a lot of sewing Says the sqaure need to be layed out according to the straight of the grain, the straight of grain is the salvage side. Hope this maybe helps you. Bro Randy

Dear Naomi,
How did your square come out?
What did you end up doing?
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Thank you everyone for your replies, they were quite helpful! I was able to correct some of the squares, and then I took a piece of cardboard and cut a square out of it to tack my fabric too. I wasn't thinking and used my rotary cutter to cut the cardboard, and it went dull very fast--frustrating! Hopefully Billy will get it sharpened tonight and I will do some cutting tomorrow and hopefully start stitching them up
