Though I doubt he reads this board, I do want to extend congratulations to our new president elect, Barak Obama. Though most here probably did not want him to be our President, the fact of the matter is he is, so, our job is to pray for him and support where we can.
1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and [for] all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Let us not fall into the trap of speaking ill of Mr. Obama. The bible tells us:
2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous [are they], selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
2Pe 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
Psa 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Bro. Ben

While I'm disappointed in the results of the election, I have not lost any sleep over it nor am I worried. We will pray for him as we have all the others and will trust in the Lord.

I will admit, i keep hoping i'll wake up in the morning and found out this all a bad dream...too bad that isn't the case though. I think this is a chance, unlike any other in recent years, for the church to stand up and truly be the church. We must stand on the Word of God like never before, seek His face like never before, pray like never before and proclaim the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ like never before. As much as i think this President-Elect may be bad for our country, he may be the thing the church needs for just a time as this to return to God.

Even if we don't agree with how the election turned out, we, as Christians, do need to pray for the new President and his family. Personally, I would not want his job for what he's paid :-)
The Lord is our ultimate leader.
Blessings, Sister Penny

Hi Sister Penny, I agree with you. Someone came up to me after church on Sunday and said " Isn't that wonderful about Obama? " I bet you're happy that Obama won. " She had assumed that because I was black I voted for Obama. I just stammered and said I would pray for him and quickly changed the subject. I'm confused as to why Christian voted for Obama but what's done is done. The Lord has put him in office and it's our job to pray for him and his family. Pray especially for his sweet little girls. They are such cute little buttons.

Oh Sister Regina, I sure do agree with you too..the Obama kiddos are just precious...imagine the stress the poor things will have to go through losing their home, friends, school, etc. and then starting over....and then being in the front and center for the next 4 years.
God bless! Sister Penny

Thank you, Bro Ben for this admonition! I for one who hates so bad to see the United States go down in so many areas needs this kind of admonition. Obama is really a product of his generation and should not be blamed for all the ills in our society. He will contribute either to the good or bad. But lets remember he has a heart that feels like everyone else and that God loves him just as much as you and me! Yes, lets keep Obama before the throne of God who is ultimately the one in control!
