My puppies are 5 days old and their nosies are turning black, so far their just getting black specks, their eyes will open soon. They all bark and yelp. Spits are known for their trying to communicate. Our male sounds like he's talking, he's so funny! ;D
Our mama dog and are pups look like their doing great. It is a mild weathered summer this year.
Please continue to pray...those of you who are praying for healthy pups? Please tack onto your prayer that we can get them all sold to good families. We are using the money for the septic tank we need to buy for our new home.
Have a great week end.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Saturday Ben built the mama dog and her 8 pups a really nice dog pen, he bought bedding for their bed area.
Yesterday morning before we left for church, we put all the pups and mama dog with water and food into their really nice pen.
Late last night when we got home from church, we went out to bring the pups and mama dog back into the house and they were ''all'' dead! All 8 puppies dead! The mama dog is fine.
The pups were bloated, and if you try to pick them up their skin ripped, their tongues were hanging out??? Strange. We are baffled? Oh well.........
We are heart broken, we loved our fuzzy, little, sweet, cuddly, puppies.
Not to mention we are out $ 2,150,00 dollars. We sure did need that money.
God knows.
Thank you Andrea and Debbie for praying for my puppies and for caring. It means alot!
Love your sister and friend, ~ sister Darlene ~

So sorry to hear about the puppies.... will you be having a vet look at them to determine if it was genetic or something contagious that could affect the mother in the near future?

How horrid ...this is way to weird...If there was no foul play, the cause was probably due to the mother not feeding them and the heat took them over...but if the mother was feeding fine until now something something else was the culprit...how strange...I wish you could have taken them to the vet and found out why they died...ok, I am a nursing student, I like to know why things happen and especially when they are weird...I will be thinking of you all...Love and hugs...Sis Debbie

That is horrible! So sad! I'll be praying for the money for your septic tank too. God knows what is best for us, even though we don't understand it all.

Sister Darlene, from the description you have given it sounds as if the puppies had a reaction to something in the new dog area. They are much more suceptible to things like that than the older dogs.
I am so sorry and sai this happened. My goodness, it must be difficult for the Smith family as well as the mother dog. What a tragic loss. Sometimes I wonder at the good that comes out of things like this yet I know the Bible tells us all things work together for the good to those who are in Christ Jesus.
In Christ, George

Dear Linda, Ruth, Donna, Debbie, Naomi and George,
Thank you all for your kind post and for caring, I know it's just puppies but we sure did love them. The children are doing better than I am. I miss them. I was hopping to keep one myself.
As for how they died we know it was from the heat and the mother not nursing them. She did this once before when we had her outside, she left them crying and yelping for her with frothy mouths, we decided to bring them in where we could watch them and make sure that she was nursing them.
We had to go to church, and we did the best we could for her, but it wasn't cool enough for her liking, so she didn't nurse them and they all died.
I'm not sure I want to try breeding her again. A mother dog should be better with her pups.
Thank you all for your prayers and for caring, ~ Darlene ~

Darlene, I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there anyway that puppies could be fed through a bottle for next time? I know nothing about puppies but I thought if the mother doggie wasn't feeding her babies maybe they can be supplemented.

Dear Regina,
After we moved the dog and her pups inside for 4 days in a row she nursed them just fine. We had no idea she would reject them once we moved her back outside for the day.
We have to go to church, and we can not be there every few hours to bottle feed 8 pups. We just need a better mother dog.
We have learned many lessons here about dog breeding.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Dear Sister Darlene and family, I am sooooo sorry for the loss of your baby puppies. I just read this post and I am just sick. Those poor babies.
I pray that your children are coping with this loss.
Mama, I know that we take it harder than the kids do sometimes. Our little birdie got outside and flew away. I searched our neighborhood for hours every day for a week. It has been over a month now and I am still sad. Sister Shanna
