The children bounced back quickly, they hardly even talk about it! I guess they didn't get attached because they could not hold them because they were too young yet, not even one week!
One time we were serving in a church out in Spring Tx and our travel trailer was hooked up outside the church, we lived in a 31 foot travel trailer. One day I was outside and a little bird a green, blue and yellow ''Buggery'' (a parakeet) came flying down on my Bistro outside he let me catch him. Ben said we could keep him. We had him for years. What a joy and a blessing he was to me. He learned how to whistle ''Deep in the heart of Tx. He was so smart...he would give kisses and say hello. Smart little bird he was. It's funny how humans can get so attached to animals.
Please pray for my mama dog as her milk dries up, we do not need a vet bill on top of the expense already. She looks a little better today. Boy was she bloated yesterday. everyday should get better.
Good to see you back with us.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~

Sister Darlene, I have heard of using cabbage leaves for engorgement for humans - do you think it would work for the mama dog too? I'm not sure how you would keep them on, but if it worked, it might save you a vet bill....

Hello! Just a suggestion for the future,I have raised a lot of husky type dogs as per where I was raised. They are not as domesticated as most and in fact they are hard to get to not run off if not penned or fenced. You want to think ahead and have the mother in the area where she is going to have the pups a good month or so and then do not move her until the pups are weaned or she might not mother them being insecure. It is just a survival trait. Sorry you lost your pups.HIS servant and yours, M & L

Dear Brother,
Thank you for the advice. She did have the tendency to just walk away and not nurse her pups. Especially if she was hot. That day got to be 100' When we left early that morning we never knew how hot it would get. She had been nursing her pups fine inside the house for about 4 days the pups were fat and healthy.
How sad.
I still miss the furry little creatures.....I'll get over it.
Live and learn, thank you for the very good advice.
May the Lord bless you and your wifes day today!
Blessings to you, ~ sister Darlene ~

Dear Sister Darlene and Brother Ben & your family, I just read this as well, I am everso sorry...We had an Irish Setter once birth 16 pups..it was a lot of work but we ended up bottle feeding the 15 that survived..
I am so sad for you all having to lose those precious puppies and for the momma dog...
