Odd title isn't it?
Dear Brothers, and Sisters,
The Lord has blessed me with a little time, I'm presently without a job, and as far as working at home; it is a rainy day. I have been doing a little reading and was surprised to find this topic.
Danger in poetry. How many of you have heard of someone that writes poetry being called a "bard"? Well, I was doing some research in an encyclopedia about Druids, Celtic devil worshipers. The earliest writings we have about them is from an anonymous Greek source, about 200 B.C. Most of you all know a little about them. The interesting fact I found was that there were some of them that did not believe in animal, or human sacrifice, but rather, the worship of poetry; they, are called, "Bards" of Britain Hmm! this isn't looking good. Well I'm not saying that all poetry is bad, as some of the OT is considered poetry, Job, Psalms, etc. But we need to be aware that in both cases, it is worship. The psalmist worships God with poetry, and the bard worships the devil with poetry. Just as music is not amoral, the same with poetry. We must be vigilant, and make sure the enemy has no foothold in our homes, and lives. Inspect your children's books, you know, those "harmless" little nursery rhymes, do a little research. "London bridge is falling down", a story of persecuted christians is portrayed in, take the keyes and lock them up, my fair lady.(Bloody Mary) the catholic. Or perhaps the song "Ring around the roses" a merry little tune about, The great plague, which swept through Europe, and Britain killing thousands; and bringing misery, woe, and death. It doesn't sound so inocent anymore does it? Well, there goes two of them. I won't go on, but rather leave you with this thought. Nothing is insignificant in the sight of God. We are accountable to God for our own self and Parents, for there children.
Please feel free to post your discoveries, and convictions in this area.
Earnest to be more like HIM, Benjamin
