I am looking for some good wholesome snacks for my grandchildren. I babysit them during the day and it is a trial to figure out what kind of snacks to feed them. Buying all the store type snacks gets very expensive. Even fruit is costly. I would really appreciate some help coming up with something different and cheaper than what I can buy in the stores.
Thanks and God bless! Sister Pam
P.S. Their ages are 3 - 10

The first thing I thought of was yogurt, especially the vanilla flavored yogurt. I called it yogurt pudding for mine and they thought it was dessert Yogurt is one the best things you can feed a child unless of course they are lactose intolerant.
Carrot sticks, celery sticks, apple slices served with peanut butter.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Popcorn (the old fashioned kind you pop in a popper yourself, the microwave stuff is expensive).
Make a pan of Rice Krispy treats.
Cereal is a good snack if it's a quality cereal. Or use it to make your own granola too.
Cupcakes are cheap and easy and nutritious if you have the right recipe.
Rice pudding from leftover rice. Bread pudding from stale bread.
Frozen grapes.

Excellent ideas Trinity! Our little ones often need a healthy snack in between meals.

I just remembered another one for you. Noodles. Whenever I boil up noodles for a dish I'll make the whole package and refrigerate the rest. Then I'll microwave a hand full with cheese sprinkled on it.

Another idea: Get some popsicle sticks and fruit juice and freeze your own pops.
