Praise the Lord! Some time ago, I think it was a year and a half or so, due to extreme differences with the new Pastor I left my Church home and started attending a different one. The new one is a Baptist Church but it is a GARBC Church. I have been stagnating there and am not being being fed the "meat." For a few weeks the Lord has been all over me about it.
So last night I swallowed my pride, which is incredibibly difficult to do, and went to my old Church. What a wonderful experience! I was very warmly received by many, many people including the Pastor. In fact this Saturday night we are having a bar-b-q for men only where the Church men are supposed to try to bring in unsaved men. I was given a personal invitation by the Pastor to attend even if I was alone.
The message was really wonderful. He preached on Acts 18:1-17 which is about Paul's experiences in Corinth. Pastor Schettler is one of the best preachers I have ever heard and is a great expository preacher.
Last night for the first time in a long time I felt fed. I also was moved to tell him I would like to come and talk to him. So today I made an appointment. I can't go until next Wednesday because we are going to have a Prophecy Conference. I am really looking forward to that.
Today I feel better and more content than I have in a long time. God does provide for our needs. My goodness, if I would have heeded the workings of the Holy Spirit a few weeks ago when He started working on me this would have been over and done for. I was saved and baptized in this Church. It is my home. I should not have become a run away but Jesus gathers in His sheep as He did me.
In Christ,
George
