Can anyone share how to smoke fish in a smoker? How long? Any kind of prep besides gutting and scaling the fish? We don't have any kind of fish hanger for it so can we use a metal deep fry basket to hold the fish or is that necessary?
I know it's doable but we've never really attempted to do this before. We want to use apple wood that a friend gave us when he trimmed up his apple trees. I took the ax to those branches and made a pile of small chips. I know you have to soak them overnight in water to make the smoke.
