I came in today and one of my co-workers shared this devotional with me. It was a blessing so I thought I'd pass it along.

Written in sand and stone
Two friends were walking through the desert. At some point during the journey, they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other on the face.
The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying a word, he wrote in the sand :
“ Today my best friend slapped me on the face".
They continued walking until they came to an oasis, where they stopped for water. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started to drown, but his friend saved him.
After he had recovered from the ordeal, he wrote on a stone :
“ Today my best friend save my life".
The friend who had slapped the saved him, asked :
“After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand. But now, you write on a stone. Why ?"
The other replied : “ When some hurts us, we should write it down in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can erase the hurt away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where it will be long remembered."
Learn to write your hurts in the sand and to carve your blessing in stone.
2Cr 2:7 So that contrariwise ye [ought] rather to forgive [him], and comfort [him], lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

It is in the spirit of enthusiasm for Jesus we had hoped for discussion on particular topics to gain a larger understanding. If we have offended we humbly apologize and shall bid adieu (French = to God).

With like enthusiasm for Jesus, we are not offended, only resolute in our belief about apostasy as taught in this article. Bro. Ben

This is a good devotional thought. It is so easy to overlook some ones virtues and hang on to the things that cause offense. Thanks for sharing this

I am really concerned for our former member Trinity. I believe she needs a lot of prayer. The Bible addresses her withdrawal from our fellowship in at least two places.
(Pro 29:1) He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
She was actually only reproved once that I am aware of. And yet she chose to harden her neck and leave. My goodness that smacks of pride to me.
(Ecc 10:4) If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.
My word, the spirit of the ruler did actually rise up against her but gently and kindly. She was asked to please cease from posting certain materials and links, that is all. The she chose to leave her place. How sad.
In Christ, George
