I know I am full of questions today. Please forgive me if this has been asked and answered. I have tried the search at the top of the page but it keeps coming back with nothing. So I will ask again if that's all right? I grew up in church and thought at 15 I was saved, but I wasn't and my life really took a down hill way. Two years ago June 27th my husband and I were both saved, I say this because I want you to know we are very new Christians and have ever so many questions. I hope this doesn't sound silly but it is something that has caused me a bit of confusion and worry. How do you know God's voice? How do you know God's will for your life? How do you know it is God and not you wanting to do something? I feel lost and confused a great deal of the time trying to know what is good and right. I often hear people that seem so clear about God's will in their life, they know just what to do, and yet I seem unsure all the time. I hope this doesn't sound silly and I know it seems like something very basic, yet I am having a hard time grasping it.

How do you know God's voice? It is a still small voice...a godly prompting! How do you know God's will for your life? Pray God will lead your foot steps. Jeremiah 33:3 How do you know it is God and not you wanting to do something? When the Lord speaks to your heart about an issue, you will know it. He will open your eyes to truth, He will give you light on a subject, He will burden your heart, You will know right from wrong.....Then the deceiver (the evil one) will tell you...
You can't be right because your preacher (and others more spiritual than you) do not believe like you.
Or...Why would God lead you or tell you to do something He would not first tell the preacher or other more spiritual christians than you to do?
The deceiver will say...that was not God telling you to do that ( good/stronger) thing...that was just your flesh thinking that!
he (the deceiver) will tell you, that you are no better than those around you, and that you do not know how to discern Gods will or promptings...Who are you anyway?
Line up Gods promptings with the word of God.
Gods ways are pure and right, they are usually not the easy thing to do and not the easy road to take.
Love, ~ sister Darlene ~
P.S I would like to add we have been saved for 22 years and we are still trying to discern Gods will in many areas of our live and path. God is patient, loving, and kind...always trying to communicate and He's faithfully guiding our path through events.
Praise the Lord for His faithful loving kindness toward us unworthy.
