Yes, Church. That's what it can be called when born again believers, who have covenanted together for the mutual admonition and edification of each other, and the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ, meet in that Blessed Name. I have spoken to two different pastors lately who really frowned on meeting in the home. One didn't like it because we did not get the authority to do so from some other church. This is a theory of church polity, but it is not nor has it been historically the only way the bodylife of the Lamb has been conducted. The other pastor, when he learned how we meet, told us, "There's alot that goes on out there in the name of church." In retrospect I should have told him, "You can say that again." I was polite and discussed what was going on at his church. He told us, "God is really blessing!" They have had new front doors installed on the building and his wife has planted a new flower bed. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, like, the Lord has visited us with revival, or we are commited to seeking his face, or something like that, but all they have now is new doors and flowers. So, until the Lord tells us different, we are going to meet with the believers we know are going in the direction we are going and extend an open door to others seeking the face of Father through his Son, Jesus Christ. People are always quick to judge. I have been kinda dealing with some of the same feelings. People say they want to attend a church that has something for them. Childrens programs. Get togethers. DO PEOPLE EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT? If the pastor took all the programs out and the dress up western days and all the pumpkin pie contests, would the church still be full? My brother just preached on last night about true conversion. When you have true conversion...all you need is the Word. The church is built on Jesus, not the programs or flowers or front doors...he he...Our church is very small. We have 16 people that attend faithfully...every service. We are all in one accord and are there for the soul purpose of Jesus Christ. Who needs what the world has to offer. We have so much more. We get to see the Spirit of God work in our services. What an amazing experience.

We are worshiping with neighbors now. It is so nice to have like minded fellowship! They were here before we were lol meeting in their home for a few years now and we 1/2 block away were meeting in our home. We finally met and got together PRAISE GOD! Another neighbor may join us too. We are praying that neighbor does. We gather together study the Bible, pray and sing then break bread together (share a meal or snack). We call our gathering...God's Way Bible Church We have no desire to move from the home environment.

I was at work last night ("graveyard shift" on security detail) and managed to listen to some wonderful messages that I recently downloaded. I have a radio that can pick up the Bible Broadcasting Network but at that time of night they tend to play nice soft soothing music. It's good stuff but bad when you have to stay awake. ;D
The message held a major point when they stated about two key elements that are vital to the survival of the family, and a nation: The Word of God and worship. To this I would add God's Word studied and applied and worship in spirit and in truth. These can and are done within homes throughout the world. House Church/ Home Church is a definite yes.

Brother Ben,
The Pastor of the church we have been visiting just preached that off the pulpit, this past Sunday, and my husband was mad and calling him self rightious and proud, because they feel that unless you belong to a seminary you can't be called of God to be a Pastor or leader of a "church" and we believe the "church" are God's children not their denomination....
Where do you hold church?

Peace in the name of Jesus Christ
Church........I could say too much..:''( I have had sooo much happen in our Church.
anyway I agree with too much Program..everything has to be kind to the skin.....we have only most times 8 or less people even they at times seek what makes my mouth go wide open..I am the youngest. Oldest is the Preacher 92. all are very old..second preacher is about 55 I think....anyway....this second preachers wife just yesterday told me after I asked why their sons don't come here, her answer was there is no young people I guess I am too old as well...I said what?? Does Young people SAVE?? and our oldest preacher 92 I asked were his sons and family Go? pentecostal was his answer, and he kept going on how organized and praising their church I am like What?? why are you here then?? didn't say it, but thought it...Too much pretending, what was our service?? Were is Jesus?? what are people going they are getting more and more lost.. programs with all their RUBBISH..We need Jesus.. they need people and program...I have been thinking leaving that Church. when Church finished people running back to their programs(life) as well..people too busy for God..and in time of need can we Blame God if he is to busy for us..Jesus seems to come last in peoples decision making..in church life anything and everything..oh oh oh..help me Jesus to Follow you in every single thing. I call my body Church of Christ, people often say ooh you must be with other Christians, I say I have to build Jesus CHURCH inside First. lots people as soon as born again run to church just to be 'Killed'.
Peace in the name of Jesus
