My husband, Roger, is 60 years old, and a plumber by trade. This week, he was doing some soldering on some pipe at one of our hospitals and one of the sprinkler heads went off due to the heat from the soldering iron. He was sent home on Wednesday morning after the sprinkler soaked several boxes of supplies as well as damage to carpet, walls, etc. On Thursday, he went to work and his company fired him. He was called in to a meeting with one of the owners of his company on Friday morning so he could hear Rog's side of the story of what happened. Tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am, he has another meeting to explain his side. We do not understand the purpose of these meetings as one of the safety directors and part owner of his company is the one who fired him and Rog has been told that the other owners will not go against the decision. However, we feel it very strange that they would call him back for two meetings to explain his side of what happened. And, since Rog has always been reliable, dependable, rarely takes time off, and does and is very consciencious of the quality of work he does, we feel that the firing is totally unwarranted. There have been far worse mistakes and incidences in the past by other people and they have never been fired.
Right now, we are totally without any income and due to physical limitations, I am unable to work. Our son and grandson also live with us. He has already lost 3 days of work this week due to this unfortunate incident with more looming on the horizon if they do not give him his job back. Due to his health issues and his age, he will find it difficult to find another job.
We would appreciate any prayers offered on our behalf that the Lord would fight for us in this situation and that Rog would be reinstated in his job. Thank you all so much. Pam
