...Just keep your eyes on the Lord, and something will turn up. My husband and I don't agree with the census, except for numbering people, so we wouldn't work for that, but hubby has a job now, thank goodness...
Anyhow, I thought I'd give you a testimony, and maybe that will help give you some hope.
My husband had a job that paid on a contract basis, week to week. Then, one day, with no warning, the money STOPPED. The company went bankrupt. For six months my husband made money here and there, as he could find things. Meanwhile, he had applied for HUNDREDS of jobs, world-wide, and there wasn't even a phone call back.
Well, we were in this situation once before, years earlier, and since hubby couldn't find a job, we created our own, and opened a business. We learned that we hated running our own business, but it got us through, until my husband landed that contract job, which he had for years.
Then, out of the blue, the money stopped coming in, and for six months, he was looking and applying everywhere - NOTHING. Not one call - NADA.
We were a week away from losing the home we rented, and having to abandon everything we owned, and live in our car. We didn't have anyone that could help us much. And we refuse to take government handouts, of any kind, because we deem it stealing, therefore no welfare, food stamps, unemployment - none of it. We would rather have lived on the street, than take it. We consider the taxes taken for these programs to be Taxpayer Slavery. Please Google that term, and you'll see some very interesting things.
So, my husband and I decided that we needed to create our own jobs again, since no one was hiring him. We didn't want to, but figured that must be what the Lord wanted us to do, because we had no other options left. A few hours after making that decision, the phone rang, and it was for one of the jobs hubby REALLY wanted, and they wanted to do an interview. I guess God just wanted us to let go, and then the call came.
Hubby had an interview a few days later. The person drove several hours to where we lived, to do the interview, and even bought hubby lunch. They are a Bible believing Christian company.
Not only did hubby get that job, but it's one he loves, his boss is Christian, and they paid half of our moving expenses to get out here, and our church paid the rest for us. Isn't that nice?!
My family of six ended up living in a small, dark paneled mobile home, which was 660 square feet. It was CROWDED in there, but we knew it was a temporary set up.
One day, I saw a certain type of manufactured home that I've wanted - I LOVE them, and have done deep research on them.
I felt led to pray in a way that I normally don't pray - I went to that house, put my hand on it, and prayed - "Dear Lord, this is my house, in Jesus' name, Amen."
Well, my husband is also an inventor and does engineering work freelance for companies. A company became interested in his work, and contracted some work to my husband, to do part time, when he's not working his usual job. They paid a large sum of money up front, and that money became our down payment on this house.
[BTW, the place we moved to for the job, happens to be an area of the US that I've wanted to live in for a long time.]
So, here we are - my husband got a job, which he's wanted since he was in high school, with Christian bosses to boot. I got my dream house, we live in the area of the US that I've wanted to move to, and the blessings keep on coming.
I personally think it's a blessing that you are not on unemployment, as that money is from ill gotten gains.
Keep looking, and trusting in Him. Sometimes the Lord has purges in our lives, when we realize we can give up things that we thought we HAD to have. This happened to us, when we lived in an RV for six months. BIG lessons learned during that time, and lots of great memories. The Lord DOES provide, so keep looking to Him.
