Does anyone have any tried and true potluck recipes? The church we started going to is a newer church and they meet at a school. Instead of rent the church twice on Sunday they just make Sunday an all day event, breaking for a pot luck lunch in the middle.
I am an accomplished cook but I just don't know what kinds of things transport well. There is no kitchen use so if it is hot it has to be in a crock pot. Cold is even harder for me because we have no a/c in our van and it is an hour drive. I don't have a cooler. I guess I could get one of those little foam ones from the dollar store. Yes that would work!

I haven't ever cooked potluck, but I found a place with some recipes. I bet if you just take a normal recipe and double it that'd be good enough. allrecipes.com/recipes/everyday-cooking/on-the-go/potluck/top.aspxThose foam things work great! Also for cold you can buy a c o o l e r and put ice in it and put the things that should be cold. Freezing water in bottles makes a great leakproof thing to keep food cold and you can reuse them.

We have a potluck meal every Sunday between our services. I usually bring a salad of some sort A lot of the ladies bring crockpots with food. Roast, pasta, meatballs, hot dogs are all things that come to mind.

Katrina the allrecipes page gave me an idea. I make a broccoli salad that is like the one they serve at the restaurant Sweet Tomatoes. I have everything but the "trees". If I can get some cheap I will make that. I am going to grab a cooler tomorrow
