It is with a great deal of pleasure that I share with my Brothers and Sisters that my Church has apparently found favor in the eyes of the Lord and He has allowed that we are beginning to make an impact in the community.
We do quite a few outreach programs. Two of them are the Thrill at the Grill which is an all you can eat men's steak dinner that is free of charge. The object is to get the unsaved and unchurched of the community into the dinner and present them with testimonies and the Gospel of Christ.
The very next Saturday evening we hold the annual Ladies Dinner. It has the same objective as the Thrill at the Grill. (As an aside it bothers me that we have a fancy name for the men's dinner and the ladies is only the Ladies Dinner. I need to talk to someone about that.)
We also allow groups from the community to use our auditorium and gym for various functions. Part of their contract is that they must allow us to pray at the events and they must allow us to present the Gospel. For the last two weeks we had a basketball camp for boys from about 10 years old to 14 years old. There were 25 boys total.
The glorious part of all this is that at the Thrill we had 20 men accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour including one sitting City Councilman. AT the ladies dinner we had 14 ladies accept Christ and of the 25 youngsters at basketball camp 18 of them accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour. Of the three programs that is a total of 52 souls saved for Christ in one week. That does not count those who may have been led to the Lord by individuals and such. Praise God for blessing our efforts in His behalf so greatly. We believe it is evidence that God approves of the things we are doing. We must be doing something right!
It is such a joy to be part of this Church. We are already making plans for this year's Live Nativity and we are discussing performing the life of Joseph as a play to be presented to the community next Easter.
In Christ,
George
