We moved and had to leave behind our wonderful church family. Now I find or family in the middle of a ton of churches but very few that sound promising. They are either denominations that I would not go near with a 10 foot pole or way too modern. My husband was really hoping that one of the churches in walking distance would be good but alas it does not seem to be the case. I also am praying for my husband to have Sunday off or at least not have to work until night time. I guess I need to pray for him to have the bravery to ask for that at his new location. We only have one vehicle and if he has to work we can not go either

Have you thought about contacting your old church for suggestions? Maybe they know of a good church in your area. Remeber your not alone as long as you keep your heart in prayer and keep asking for help in finding a good "FIT" for your spirtual needs.
I am praying for you.

I know how you feel we have looked for a good church for 14 years. The church is the people (body of believers), not the building or program or even the pastor. It is hard finding a good group of bible believing christians to meet with.
It does get discouraging sometimes, but God is faithful to encourage His weary believers. Oh how we humans desire christian fellowship, oh how we get weary of striving with men, having to discuss why we believe this or that and how they do not see it that way. Who cares how others see what God has laid upon your heart to do, but others feel it their position to tell you why you are in error and how their view is right. That's why we cannot meet with Ind Fund Baptist any more they strongly disagree with the covering.
Mennonites and Amish want to call you a Calvinist if you believe in eternal life. And they super analyze everything, except their own pride and judgementalness.
Libral churches are sweet at first, but you can't last there either because they practice things that are against your conscience and they end up despising you in the long run and picking your family apart in the end, like you think you are so perfect. When in reality you do not think you are perfect at all, but quite the contrary, you see your great need of denying self and drawing closer to Christ. You view others the same as yourself, they are growing in their walk as well. It does not make you better because you have learned a great truth, they are yet to learn. And in many cases they have learned great truths you have yet to learn. But their liberalness (music, immodest dress, entertainments and fleshly lusts ) grieve your spirit and you find you can not stay and grow there.
We are ministering in a church where their are 5 people besides our family, they are nothing like us, but we love them, we desire to be used by God as a family to encourage them and draw them closer to Christ, in the mean time we pray for a christian family or more to come meet there with us, because that would be so encouraging to our family and the cause of Christ. As of now we endure men who have no problem going outside after Sunday School or before or after church to smoke, they stand right in front of the front door, they leave cigarette buts all over the ground, my girls feel so convicted that we pick up all the buts and dispose of them after everyone is gone. The women dress really immodest, it's like going in a bar. A girl even got up a few weeks ago and was suppose to sing a song, well we thought it was going to be some Southern Gospel song, but it was much worse than that it was a Country song. YUCK...Southern Gospel isn't much better, we were wondering how we could even endure that. Ben was so shocked that they allowed her to sing that, he said from now on all songs will be okeyed by him. We normally do not have anyone who sings, this was a first in 7 1/2 months of preaching there. We never know what to expect from these folks, Bro Ben has his hands full. We hope in time the people will receive Christ and grow, we also pray for protection for our family as we serve.
You see even Pastor family's are hungry for a church (christian people ) to fellowship and worship with. I believe we are in the end times...the love of many has waxed cold and the hearts of mankind are not seeking after the things of God but after the flesh, and the christians are scattered and longing for fellowship, finding it here and there. The church is alive and well just scattered among the religious.
Praying for you dear sister.
Love, ~ Darlene ~
Joyfully serving the Saviour! Joy comes from the Lord. The joy of the Lord is my strength. We do have a whole lot to be thankful for.

That is a hard situation. I commend you for sticking it out to minister for these folks. It is so hard to be around that sort of thing but they need the word of God and a good example more than anyone!
I have found two churches that look promising. We will visit one of them this weekend since my husband is off. Next week he works. There is a non-denominational church in walking distance to us, I might walk over with the kids. It will probably not be what we are looking for but we will give it a try.
