We bought our dehydrator from ''Wal Mart'' a few years ago.
My daughter wanted dehydrated apples to make a new cookie recipe she found. At ''Wal Mart'' they cost $1.98 for a package that holds only 1 1/2 cups of dried apples.
At ''Save a Lot'' they had 8lb bags of ''big red apples'' for $1.99 a bag...now that's a great deal. I bought 3 bags and we cut up the apples and sliced them and dehydrated them. Then we stored them in our pantry in quart jars. Now thats the way to have dried apples for cheap.
We also dry other fruits, our favorite is Bananas, we get spotted Bananas that ''Save a Lot'' bags up for cheap, and these work great for dehydrating. Store in quart Mason jars.
We save all our Mayonnaise jar lids they screw onto a quart jar.
Have a great day!
