This does not mean ALL Baptist Churches have stopped this.. OURS has not.. We still believe in Baptizing.. I think you misunderstood the article. They were saying that fewer young people are coming forward to receive Baptism so the numbers of Baptisms are down. See this quote from the article

In his message, 'What Happened to the Roman's Road?' by Darrel Champlin, he makes it clear that the genuinely "saved" will get baptized as naturally as a duck gets in water. We've experienced a generation of artificial evangelism and have to bribe people into the water. :/

I believe this is at the core of Paul's warnings of apostasy in the last days. I have recently moved and trying to find a "nearby church" to attend until I can get a car and go where I want. I have noticed an obvious lack of "brotherly love." The church I was attending most recently (Beachy Mennonite) was loving and committed to discipleship. They would bend over backwards to help me and took me in like a family member. I can't even get these birds to come give me a ride to church. :/

Preaching to the choir here I am still getting used to my new Mennonite family, they are so weird A couple months ago me and some brethren were discussing the weather and chores, somewhere along the way I casually mentioned I had to cut and split some more wood, not thinking anything about it. Now mind you the pastor and his grown boys are dairy farmers. I was just eating breakfast when a parade of pickups, log splitters, and tractors rolled onto my farm, I am like what ? Half the church turned out, and in 5 hours I had a mountain of wood that would have taken me a month to process. No way would have any previous church I had attended would have showed up to do this if I asked, let alone, just show up.

That's just another reason I love the plain brethren. I'm temporarily out of range of a plain church. I don't have a vehicle and it took me two weeks to find a church that would come pick me up for church. In this case it is an IFB church and I'm a little reluctant to go. I'm so used to my Beachy Amish Mennonite church I was attending. Lord willing I'll have a vehicle this month and start making the hour trek to the nearest Beachy church to me.
