With a sense of uncertainty engulfing the United States as it looks for a candidate to succeed President Barack Obama, world-renown evangelist Franklin Graham has decided not to endorse any presidential campaigns, but rather to take his Decision America tour around the country while helping Americans see the warning signs and prepare for an ultimate collapse.
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association President Franklin Graham is worried that with Americans directing all of their attention to the bickering taking place between presidential campaigns as the primaries are under way this election season, citizens are turning a blind eye to the writing on the wall displayed through horrific events taking place across the globe.
"Is the world imploding?” the son of iconic world evangelist Billy Graham asked on his latest Facebook post. “While the United States is focused on its own politics, the world is unraveling.”
The 63-year-old Christian leader went on to point out many of the unravelings taking place every day that many Americans are overlooking as they fail to see the big picture and warnings outlined in the Bible.
“The danger signals are everywhere,” Graham asserted. “Beheadings, rapes, murders, bombings are taking place every day across North Africa through the Middle East, all the way to the borders of India.”
He went on to note many of the other events taking place around the globe that should concern people in America and abroad.
“The U.S. military is deploying fighter aircraft to Finland to counter Russia's moves in that region; China is deploying missiles on an artificial island they have built in the South China Sea over the objections of the international community; and North Korea has successfully test fired a long-range missile that has the potential of eventually reaching America with a nuclear bomb,” Graham continued. “A few days ago, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said we have slid back into a 'Cold War.'”
The reverend from North Carolina then used all of the events and uprisings to show that the only hope for true peace and reconciliation is through God — not governments or new accords.
“There's a global epidemic of political and economic instability,” Graham argued. “All you have to do is look at the headlines and realize that the only hope for the world in which we live is Almighty God.”
God to hit the reset button?
Graham then turned to Scripture and urged his Facebook friends to do one the most powerful thing they can do as Christians — pray for their leaders.
“It is imperative that we remember to pray for all 'those in authority' as God has commanded in His Word (1 Tim. 2:1-3),” the vocal minister stressed while referring to the New Testament passage.
He proceeded by appealing to the Old Testament to alert people that God will uproot the corruption that man has wreaked on earth before He establishes a new and better order.
"One day He is going to wipe the slate clean and 'create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.'” —Isaiah 65:17
Encouraging Christians not to get caught up in the dismal state of world affairs, Graham emphasized that believers have something much better planned for them — beyond this earth and far exceeding its promises of happiness and fulfillment.
“For those who have trusted His Son Jesus Christ by faith, there is an eternal future with Him to look forward to,” the Southern preacher promised.
Graham followed up by leaving his social media audience with the words of “reassurance and hope” left by Jesus for those who believe in Him.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me ... I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” —John 14:1-3
