I refused to go to our church's Super Bowl party and honestly I don't know why any church would do this. I heard from several bloggers how sleazy the half-time show was. I watched oh should I say, attempted to watch a clip before I decided to write a post on my blog. I couldn't get through two seconds before I had to click it off. How horrible to allow such filth before children's eyes any any brother who is struggling with lust. I only hope that churches who watched this quickly turned it off. Actually I hope our church will reconsider the decision to host a party next year.

Sadly only not admitted too, the love of sports is another idol in the church today. I have known pastors in the past the could not wait until done preaching so they could run to their office and turn a game on. It is all part of the entertainment package in a lot of churches. " We have to do things like this to bring and keep people in the church" Personally I have no interest in watching sports at all, I will not judge one for doing it , but think of where it leads one to.

I'm definitely not into sports at all either, especially football. I find it ridiculousmfor churches to have Super Bowl parties and allow such trash to be show.

I agree sister. The same ones that will spend hours watching a game are the same ones that will complain if the pastor is not done speaking right on time. Where are the ones that go to church to worship and hear the word of God no matter how long the service might last.

We agree with you. The slippery slope to eternal damnation starts with moral compromises under the guise of "drawing people to church."

It's rather disturbing and I really hope my church doesn't host another Super Bowl party again.

I have said it many times before. A lot of churches today are bringing the church down to the worlds level rather then trying to bring the world up to Gods level. When you look at the night club atmosphere, the entertainment , the wine culture, the music in many churches it is just so wrong. Many are walking hand in hand with the world and just adding Jesus to the situation. What do the churches have to offer the world if there is no real difference?
