As my login name implies I am indeed a "country girl" at heart - I grew up in Western Kentucky so I am from the "hills and hollers." I currently reside in Central Florida, and I admit to getting homesick, because I do not like the hustle and bustle of the "rat race." One of the things I hope to do is be able to drop out of the rat race at some point in the near future.
I am a recent arrival from another message board, which shall remain nameless, that purported to be a Christian based website, but found my fundamental baptist POV "too extreme" and I have been banned from their board. What was my offense, you might ask? I had the gall, the nerve, the sheer audacity to proclaim the KJV Bible as the Infallible Word of God! GASP! For that I was banned - because I refused to recant my beliefs and say that all other versions of the bible have equal merit with the Holy Bible! They supposedly embraced all denominations ...
I guess I should be glad that I was just banned, and not drawn and quartered, burned at the stake, and my head put on a pike to serve as a warning to all other of those other message board members who dared to have ideas that differed from the message board owners!
So any how, one of the board moderators suggested that I try this site instead, and after spending a day reading through the threads, I thought why not? So if you guys will accept me, warts and all, then I guess I will do my best to serve the Lord and become a contributing member of the community. You have fair warning though, my beliefs are fairly radical! Not only do I believe in the KJV Word of God is Infallible, I also believe in Eternal Salvation! (I would not recant that one either! ;D ), the Baptism of Repentant Sinners - not infants ;D, and the Lord's Supper as a Remembrance, not a Eucharistic sacrament ;D - I am a "dyed in the wool, yard wide bolt of Baptist." I celebrated my 26th Born-Again Birthday yesterday (I am 45 years young).
I am a fairly chatty type person, if you have any questions you can feel free to ask me just about anything.

:)Good to have you with us...What is your real name? Are you married? Do you have children? Do you Homeschool? What are your hobbies and interests? Do you wear a covering? I know you are baptist and believe in the KJV and eternal life etc.... That is great! Do you believe in modesty? All of the ladies here believe in modesty ( wearing ''modest'' dresses and skirts) and alot of us cover too or are praying about it. You are welcome just as you are here, You will find we have correct doctrine and strong beliefs too here. We are so glad you found us! I hope you get a blessing from this site and much encouragement too. If you have a prayer request please feel free to post. We love to lift each other up in prayer. We all need prayer.
I was on Hillbilly House wife a few years ago and I thought it was an Ind. Fund. Baptist based site because the two head moderators were, but I shortly found out that I was out numbered by devils and liberal compromisers. The end result was they decided that all beliefs were ok and we all are going to the same place though some take another path. Mormons, Seventh Day Adventist, Catholic's, Jehovah's witness etc... That site was not for me! ... even though it was a fun and interesting site. God had me depart and I am glad I did. Ben and I started this site, we do not believe you have to be Baptist to go to heaven, but one must believe in the fundamentals of the faith. No deviant doctrines or teachings here. I hope you will enjoy this site!
Love, ~sister Darlene~

Dear Sister Darlene and Sister Penny,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome.
I am the mother of four lovely children - Jack is 30, Sarah is 25, Christopher is 16 and my "baby" Lee Ann is now 12 years old. I have 5 grandchildren, the newest addition is Luna Adele.
I am not a "women's libber" but I do work out of my home as a Med-Waiver Support Coordinator. I help individuals who have a dx of Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Mental Retardation, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and/or Spina Bifada to access community recourses and services so that they can have a higher quality of life while living at home with their families, or out in the community in their own homes and apartments. I feel that this a responsibility that God has given me - it is not just a job but who I am and was born to be.
I believe in dressing modestly. One of the scriptures that I live by is
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I depend on God providing for my needs, which includes food, clothing, and shelter. I have been blessed by clothing from thrift shops, goodwill, and occasionally my neighbors clean their closets out and pass things along to me. I wear the clothes that God supplies to me, which fortunately are mostly dresses. I have taken to wearing head coverings after I studied about it recently, but it still remains a private thing for me and I do not cover openly, but only during my quiet prayer times.
I am allergic to just about all manner of dyes and perfumes, so I do not wear any makeup, or have a whole bathroom full of "potions and lotions." I have allowed my hair to grow back into its natural color which is a dark blond with a few streaks of gray - it almost looks as if I have added these stylish highlights. I am always looking for new ways to enhance the natural inner beauty that God has given me - baking soda, vinegar, oatmeal facials, etc.
I try to live a plain and simple life, and to appreciate what ever friends, family, furniture, appliances and material goods that God blesses me with. I was blessed last Christmas with a '93 Geo Metro, and with gasoline prices as they are now, I am indeed grateful! I try to be very frugal and a good steward of the money that God has entrusted me with. I tithe regularly - I have learned that when I skip that part God finds "other" ways to take the money from me (car breaks down, or some unexpected bill pops up) but when I pay my tithes I get unexpected blessings from unexpected sources - such as a $300 refund check from the electric company!
I have been a Christian woman for 26 years - yesterday was my "born-again birthday!"
Let's see - is that everything? Oh yes, I have not home schooled my children, but the way schools are getting increasingly more violent I may start! I have a Master's Degree in Special Education.
Sincerely,
Your Sister In Christ,
Janet

I thank you for your kind, warm, and friendly welcome to this Baptist message board. Unfortunately, I continue to be harassed by some of the ecumenical moderators from the other message board. They have arranged their board so that the moderators can email me, to my personal email addy, but in order to respond to their messages, I have to go through their personal message system on the board from which I have been banned and unable to gain access. So all I can do is receive their messages and not respond to their accusations. They sent me to this board because they did not want me on their board, and now they don't like what I am saying here either!
I am a member of Bible Baptist Church which I find aligns itself most closely to the scriptures, which is probably why no one batted an eye when I wore my head overing today. My church and its members take a stand against the Ecumenical Movement that is so prevalent in a lot of places on the Internet these days.
As I understand it, and I am quoting from the Constitution & Bylaws of Bible Baptist, the Ecumenical Movement is "the attempt to unite the different faiths today on a basis of the least common denominator of doctrine is a betrayal of true unity of believers based upon sound doctrine of the historical Christian Faith. Its dialog with other religions is dialectic. Its method of operation is subversive and shows a tendency of totalitarianism. Its concept of an ecclesiastical kingdom is not supported by Scripture. We as a body and church reject all cooperation with this movement."
My church is also rather strict, in that it expects its members to abstain from worldly amusements such as gambling, to be free from all oath-bound societies and partnerships with unbelievers, to abstain from the sale or use in any form such as illegal drugs, or intoxicating drink as a beverage and all products and practices that defile the body, to use our influence to combat the use of drugs, or the use or spread of pornography; and to be zealous in all our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.
Now if you were able to access this other message board, you would find all of these issues are being actively condoned and supported by the membership and moderators alike, which is why I certainly do not fit in with their membership. Let someone post something contrary to their personal beliefs and they pounce on them in a free for all! I am the proverbial square peg that refuses to compromise my faith in order to fit into their little round hole. I stand accused of being nothing but a troublemaker, a "troll" who came to upset everyone's applecart.
I do not now nor have I ever considered myself to be a "troll" but at the same time I never realized their are so many false religions and false teachings and how easily people fall into Satan's snares, and just how vehemently people stand ready to believe the lies and falsehoods that Satan uses to destroy them! It is like trying to lead horses out of a burning stable - their instinct tells them to stay in the stalls , even though it means they will perish in the flames!

This message board is not a typical Baptist message board. Bro. Ben and I are from a baptist background, and grew as christians in the Baptist churches, but we have not been able to find a God honoring baptist church in our area for the past 10 years since we moved here. We attend a born-again christian fellowship, we are plain in practice and belief, and we practice godly living coupled with a deep and abiding trust and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Some of us here are not Baptist at all even though most of us come from a baptist background. We are born-again, bible believing, bible practicing, christians. We are all Anabaptist in belief, we are not ecumenical. I just wanted to let you know who we are here so you will not be mistaken that we are a baptist message board....because we are not....we are a born-again christian fellowship, we are plain in practice and belief, and we practice godly living coupled with a deep and abiding trust and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is who we are here......We are all growing in the Lord here, and are at different stages of growth and practice, but we are all seeking the Lord and all want to be obedient to the Lords will, and leading in our lives, and we are desiring growth in our christian walk and life. That's who we are...Plain and simple. Good folks, sweet brethren... A blessing to be here. You are surely welcome here... Have a great day sister! Love ~ sister Darlene ~

You are not a Baptist Board? You must forgive my confusion. I thought this was a Board for Born-Again Baptists. Why do you call yourself Baptist if you are not?

I guess I walked right into this one now didn't I??? I feel like a fool. I should have known I was being set up. HA HA. You've all had your fun. Now I am leaving. Goodbye.

Dear Janet,
What do you mean? Now I'm confused??? We are baptist in doctrine only but we do not line up with most baptist in practice, you see most baptist churches have gone the way of the world in practice. So we do not claim to be like most baptist these days.

Being set up? In what way, may I ask? My goodness. This board is Baptist to the point of the true sense and meaning of the word. The people of this board have continued in the way Baptists used to be and not in the way of a great deal of the Baptists who have allowed the ways of the world to enter their lives in a rather large way.
Baptists used to be known for reading their Bibles, believing their Bibles and living by their Bibles. It is my personal experience the people of this site do those very things.
In Christ, George

Sister Gennet,
I was grieved to see you post. I fealt like you judged, sentanced, and hanged us before we got to say a word. In your post you said:
You are not a Baptist Board? You must forgive my confusion. I thought this was a Board for Born-Again Baptists. Why do you call yourself Baptist if you are not?

Gennet, just what is a Baptist? There are so many Baptist groups, I cannot even begin to count them. The people called Baptist have expressed their faith in so many different ways and from such diverse points of view theologically, that there is not monolithic definition of what a Baptist is. However, B.H. Carrol, pastor and professor of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX said at the turn on the century that the only marks that unite all Baptists is this, they believed in Repentance and Baptism. As you scrutinize each group throughout the centuries of church history you see some variations, but that was the "earmark."
To be quite honest, there are many who call themselves Baptist on the sign out front of the church, and they do not practice what the Baptists have believed historically. Is being "called" Baptist what makes you a Baptist? No. It is what you are, what you practice. I am not ashamed of the historical Baptist churches throughout church history, but that is usually what someone else called them. They usually called themselves, Believers, Christians, Children of God, Servants of the Lord, etc.
We have had no "fun" with you, I assure you. We hardly got a chance to know you. We never had a chance to show you that we are just believers trying to walk with the Lord.
You have some issues, like we all do, and you need to be transparent enough to let the brethren in so we can understand and be better help.
I hope you will read this and do some thinking.
In Christian love,
Bro. Ben
