Hello, everyone! My name is Sarah. I am a nineteen-year-old Christian girl from California. I became saved at fifteen, and it's been a rocky experience, but the Lord has changed my heart so tremendously in the last few years. I come from an unsaved family (to my knowledge, there are only a handful of professing Christians in even my totally extended family, and none that practice headcovering and modest dress). I have had to deal with a lot of weird dilemmas, especially in the last year. My parents were uncomfortable with the covering at first, but then I explained it, and through the Spirit they gradually accepted it. The same went for modest dress. I am also currently a Junior at college, at my father's request. Part of me feels very uncomfortable, but I am trying to make the best of it (I am studying History, my greatest passion and also a good springboard for homeschooling, and also Family and Consumer Sciences AKA home economics).
I have been practicing the headcovering at least in part literally since I became converted. I began covering full-time fall this year. My dress has changed moderately radically since then. I have worn skirts my entire saved life, but I used to make them "bare minimum" long at the bottom of the knee. Since then, the Lord has showed me that the way I am dressing is improper and immodest. I have begun to practice double covering (i.e., a jumper over a blouse) since I believe that that is the more modest way.
I suppose I am longwinded today! I look forward to being a part of this board!
Love in Christ,
Sarah

Amen, Sarah, keep pressing on for the Lord. My 20 year old son loves History. In our home schooling, he always gravitated toward history. He taught me and Darlene several things I just skipped over in my school days. May the Lord help you to be a testimony at home and at school.
