Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ. I glad to be here. I am an active member of a serparated, independent, fundamental, kjv bible believing church. i've been sick as of late with brochitus and my sinuses. I also have asthma so have had to give self breathing treatments at times. I like alot I have read so far and some of the things i question gives me more bible digging to do. ;D I hope everyone here has a personal, private time for prayer and Bible reading/study. I'm bummed I lost my SS book and can't remember where I last worked on it. On Weekday my time in bible is in my bedroom ob weekends it out in livingroom. i fear i left it in living room and my kids may have thrown it out.
Anyway in obedience to the head of this house i work full time outside the home. I work 3rd shift so that is why i called myself Nocternal. I'm willing to change it but someone needs to show me how now cause it only let me sign in using Nocternal.
I have a written testimony that I sent brother Ben if he likes I can post it here. I also have a testimony for the way I dress. I only wear modest skirts and dresses and most of them are mid calf or ankle lenth. I am the only person in my work place that wears a skirt everyday. I get grief from people that seem to have a problem with my skirts. They seem to think I can't do my job but my skirts have never prevented me from doing what needs to be done.
I like cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting. I love my church and my church family. I have 3 living children. 2 daughters 19, and 17, and a son 12. I have one daughter in Heaven.
I looking forward to meeting all of you.

Welcome Laurie
Prayer and Bible study/reading are " all important " to me each and every day....rare to miss a day.
I do know how to knit and crochet but haven't made anything in quite a while.

Laurie,
Welcome to the board! "Nocturnal" is an okay nickname. I thought you might possibly suffer from insomnia, but I see it had to do with your shift hours.
My husband and I both have allergies, he worse than me. They found that his allergies were caused by dust mites and their by-products. He got swollen up real bad from dust mites, so bad he looked like some sort of a monster - his lips would swell up real big and his eyes and even his whole face, in fact, would swell into a droop. So, he had to go to an allergist a few years ago it got so bad. We have to run the vacuum a little more often over the bedroom floor and I take the bedroom curtains down and wash the dust out of them about once a year. Mostly, though, we went to Lowe's and got one of those fairly large air purifiers and keep the filters changed as soon as the indicator lights go on to tell us to change them. We do leave one window just barely cracked because the purifier seems to need a tiny bit of oxygenated air coming in to work right. That has kept the problem at bay pretty well - oh, and I also replace the pillows once a year. Those things get loaded with dust mites in a year. I used to wash the pillows and dry them in the sun, but it's easier to just get cheap ones and toss the millions of dust mites in the trash every year and start all over. - I use Zicam (OTC) spray for my occasionally stopped up nose. I'm sure it's the dust mites, too, that I fail to eradicate with my poor housekeeping!
Anyway, again, welcome to the board! Sounds like you are a busy lady. Stick to your guns on skirts and dresses. I've run into a bit of hostility lately when trying to go to church where there's a practice of immodest dressing. I think the women at those more liberal churches would just as soon I keep on moving rather than to silently challenge their practices by my daring to cover and not wear britches. Believe me, it would sure be easier not to under those circumstances. I'm still trying to find a good house church to go to where they wear head coverings and don't wear britches.
M.
