I have been corresponding with a young believer as he seeks the Lord in his life. One of the issues is for his wife to start covering. He and his wife went to their pastor and the pastor basically told him covering was just tradition and done by "fruitcakes," and that he (the young believer) doesn't know anything, he can't even change a tire.
This type of pastoral leadership is grievous to me and a blight on the church in our day. Not just because the pastor doesn't believe in covering, but because he has in effect, removed this young mans autority in his home to lead by removing his wifes faith in his ability to discern truth and lead the family.
Please pray for this young man.

I'm glad that I am an obedient "fuitcake". This poor man, I feel so bad for him. I'll pray for him and this "pastor". I think this young man should do what the Lord is instructing him to do and let his wife cover. Oh I just don't see how a supposed man of God could be so thoughtless with his tongue

This pastor will be held accountable to the Lord for the way he leads his flock. I'll be praying for this young man and his wife. Carole

Certainly my prayers are with this young man. My word, I hope he runs out the door of that Church. This so-called Pastor needs to lead his life as a Christian and not in the manner he does. He is not doing anyone a service even himself.
In Christ, George
